Hey Joshua Davis18 - how long have you actually been running that Kaspersky and Kerio combo? And for real, how much longer did you stick with ZoneAlarm before making the switch? I haven't really heard of Kerio before, sounds pretty interesting though.

I’m still rocking ZoneAlarm myself, and honestly, for the last five months since I got my internet set up, things have been fine—well, mostly. I mean, yeah, I had to go in and manually tweak all the settings just to get it where I wanted it, especially figuring out which of my apps ZoneAlarm should just ignore so it would stop being such a massive pain with those constant pop-ups you mentioned... but once I did that, it was finally peaceful.

Back in the day, I was using AVG, and over time it managed to sniff out a few viruses here and there. Then one day, on a buddy's recommendation, I downloaded and installed Avast Antivirus Workstation—which is also free but feels way more professional—and it actually caught a couple of Trojans that AVG completely missed, so I've been using that ever since. I probably ought to upgrade to something a bit more high-end soon, though...

Personally, I’m a huge fan of Kerio. If you set it up right, it wipes out all those annoying ads on Reddit and other junk sites—it’s awesome because it’s lightweight, stays quiet in the background, and just works perfectly.

As for ZoneAlarm, it’s massive. It absolutely kills my startup speed and keeps nagging me with the same stupid questions over and over again—do you want to allow this app? Do you want to let this program edit the registry? Can it access the web? Can it send emails? Blah, blah, blah...

I’ve been using Norton firewall up until now, and honestly, even though I know it’s good to have, it was driving me absolutely crazy! I spent half my life guessing whether I should actually allow a connection to the internet or block it.

I'm downloading Check Point right now, so fingers crossed I have better luck with this one!

Also, I just switched from McAfee to Symantec AntiVirus today, and man, I have to say—in my opinion, it's easily a hundred times better than McAfee!

People, seriously, get with the program! The era of McAfee is over, just like how a vintage Mercedes isn't what it used to be back in the day!!!

ZoneAlarm is such a beast, though. It drags my startup speed through the mud and keeps nagging me about stuff I already answered. It asks a hundred times if you want to allow a program, change a registry key, access the web, send an email... blah blah blah)

Personally, ZoneAlarm feels fine on my desktop. I'm running the PRO version now.
Startup is totally normal, hasn't slowed me down one bit 😕 .

Plus, this PRO version has built-in anti-spam, which is a nice touch 🙂 .

In the end, I'll probably just stick with paid McAfee + ZoneAlarm Pro on my laptop😉

I’m just telling you now, stay far away from Zscaler if you value your sanity.
At the end of the day, you can do whatever you want—it's your call entirely😉

Look, I appreciate the advice, but what’s actually wrong with Zillow?

I ran it on my PC for about a year back in the day, but eventually uninstalled it because it was lagging everything—I couldn't even get a decent internet connection...

I've had it back on my computer for three months now, and honestly, it hasn't given me any trouble. It isn't even nagging me anymore; it asked me a few things for three days, and then it finally seemed to settle down 😬 .

Plus, from what I can tell, Zillow and NOD32 together use almost half the memory that Norton does on my laptop...

😕

I’ve started getting hit with constant Blue Screens of Death and a whole host of other glitches. It’s definitely not my favorite way to spend an afternoon.
