Looks powerful enough.. As for those ColorShift power supplies.. you might as well buy two 500W units for $50. That’s how much quality we're talking about here.

At first, I was planning to this sign by spinning it upwards, but it turned out to be way too complicated 😁 and since I'm basically radioactive, I ended up messing up the circle—who knows how that would have even looked xD

Quick question for you all. Most of you probably remember when I dyed my case blue back at the Love Parade.
Now, if I want to switch it up to a different color, do I need to sand everything down and start from scratch—or can I just layer the new color right over the old one?🙂

I think you can just go right over it. That blue part basically acts as your foundation and everything else too.

You think so? I'll give it a shot! I'll just go with black and call it a day...🙂

When I did my first paint job, I didn't really do anything besides just painting the surface itself. I suppose I should have applied some kind of protective coating afterward, but it turned out okay.

Alright, I finally did it—the Love Parade case project is officially wrapped up.
Just wanted to post this as a little trip down memory lane to see where I started:

And here’s the current progress:

The finish is black—but not just any black, we're talking a deep matte black.
It looks incredible; I honestly can't wait to get everything assembled to see the final result.
It looks especially sharp in these photos since the paint job is still fresh.

I've got the same case...http://i42.tinypic.com/2d91t9w.jpg
looks like you just did some PC Modding on the bottom part where the lights are, right?

I didn't mod anything.
It looks just like this straight out of the box.

On another note—quick question for you guys—should I go ahead and paint the inside of the case, or just leave it gray since it's aluminum?

If you’re planning on running an open-air build, you should definitely go ahead and paint it. Gray is pretty dull; in my experience, a black interior looks absolutely killer. 😁

I’m leaning toward painting mine too. I actually picked up a black kit recently—my wife was asking if I wanted a gloss or a matte finish—and man, choosing matte was the right call. It looks a bit underwhelming while it's still drying, but once it sets? It looks absolutely killer.

What’s the best way to strip a sticker off the chassis (that aluminum section)?
I tried using warm water, but now I'm stuck with a mess of leftover adhesive!

I went ahead and dyed mine, and honestly, it looks so much better, believe me 😁
Gray is just boring.

I’m honestly on the fence about this—though, I have to say, some of the PC Modding builds I’ve seen on other forums look absolutely incredible...
The real question is whether the paint will actually stick to that aluminum. My plan is to hit it with a good primer before applying the color—fingers crossed that does the trick.

A buddy of mine had his paint start peeling off in patches once... man, it looked like total trash

I was actually going to mention what Larry Hayes wrote above...
Did your friend apply any primer before they started painting?

I suppose there shouldn't be much of an issue if the surface was properly prepped before the paint went on. 🙂

haha, what are you guys even talking about... you're losing it. You're just trying to scare people. What kind of example is that? Check my previous posts if you need proof—my PC Modding project where I spray-painted the entire chassis matte black, inside and out. First, you just give the case a deep clean and let it dry completely. After that, it’s easy... grab some matte black silicone spray ($9.25) and just hit it. That's it. All this talk about complex painting is nonsense because my case looks exactly the same as when I first did it.

Primers definitely have their advantages, and they're certainly worth using before you start painting. People didn't just come up with them for no reason.

I’d really suggest using a primer first—it helps the color bond much better so you don't end up with peeling issues. I tried spraying mine without any primer, just straight matte black and white, and I've already noticed some slight flaking in a few spots...
Here’s a shot of my bin: Just a few days after painting it

Fast forward about 5 or 6 months

The edges are starting to peel off a bit, and if you tighten a screw just a little too much, the plastic actually starts to crack slightly...
