Bryan Evans77, why don't you just go ahead and upload some photos from your own PC?
😉

What kind of rigs are you guys running? I need the specs—processor, RAM, hard drive, power supply, GPU, motherboard... give me the full breakdown.

That’s a quadruple post, and I honestly don't see how the PC specs have anything to do with PC Modding. 🙂

I mean, what is even the point of PC Case Modding if you’re running a total junker of a rig anyway? 😉

James Morris4, I guess you finally got that PC set up?

Use the edit button instead of posting one reply after another 🤦
PC Case Modding is worth doing even if you’re working with a junk rig. It isn't about showing off expensive parts; it’s about showing off your imagination and what you can do with a chassis.
My setup is decent enough, I guess. My case is total trash though xD But I'm not giving up on it just because it's garbage. I bet there are a few pages of photos tucked away somewhere that I lost.
Link to the post. Found it.

I'm planning to tidy up my torrent machine next. It has a Gibbyte Micro-ATX motherboard in there, though I'm not entirely sure which model. It has integrated graphics. The processor is an incredibly quiet and cool LE-1640 😬 I used a stock AMD cooler rated for 95W, even though this CPU only has a 45W TDP. At 2.6 GHz, I underclock it to 2 GHz and drop the voltage to below 1V, and boom—it runs fine on just the passive heatsink from the stock cooler 🤣 Over the weekend, I'll probably cut a hole in the side panel for a 12cm fan. I'm thinking of running it at 5V, just enough to get some airflow so the motherboard and power supply—if not the CPU itself—can breathe a little. I want to keep this machine completely silent 😁 I didn't realize 7200.11 was this quiet 😍
It's a great feeling, turning on a computer and having no idea it's even running until you hear the POST beep.

I don't have a hole saw for my drill, so I'll just have to figure out another way to make the opening for that heatsink.

Your build looks solid and the cable management is actually pretty decent. I like it. 👍Maybe throw some more photos our way if you can.

I'm probably not going to post more pictures just yet, since I'm planning on doing something bigger pretty soon. It'll likely be a little project lasting a few weeks. I'm not sure if it'll turn into anything major, but we'll see.
I honestly hate this case because it's way too cramped and the design is just awkward. 😁
If I had known, I would have gone with the NZXT gamma take T. T

Fine, but does that build actually have any neon accents or LED fans included?

I don't have any, because I don't see how it would be useful for me—it would just be extra power draw. My PC doesn't even have a plexiglass side panel, so I have no need for flashy lighting.

I guess maybe someone here could actually bother to post some photos of their PC builds 🙂

How does one go about installing an LED fan inside a power supply unit? And I guess... maybe there's actually any point to putting a fan on the front of the case at all? Does it even do anything?

Just tear down the power supply, reconnect the wires—red and black, I assume—and screw everything back together...

The front one pulls fresh air into the case. Did that really not cross your mind??

Please, don't go poking around inside that power supply. First off, you’re looking at a serious risk of electrocution if you touch any of those capacitors—those things can hold a charge long after the plug is pulled. Then, even if you survive that, there's the risk of installing a fan with insufficient airflow, which is basically a recipe for turning your PSU into a smoke machine.
In short, I wouldn't dream of opening up a power supply unless you know exactly what you're doing. 😉

Casey Long2 said:Don't touch the PSU. Seriously. One slip on a capacitor and you're dead, then you go and slap a low-airflow fan on it and watch the whole thing go up in smoke...
Basically, don't crack open a power supply unless you actually know what you're doing. 😉

So I guess the coils smelling like they're burning is totally fine then? 😬
