Timothy Kim60 said:Why don't you just have someone cleanly cut it with a grinder and sand down the edges so there aren't any sharp bits left over? While they're at it, make sure there's enough clearance for a long graphics card, maybe around 312mm, just in case you upgrade later.

btw whose GTX 750 Ti is that—is it the Gigabyte Windforce? That one should be the longest one.

I have some tin snips for cutting metal, but I'll look into my options a bit more before I actually dive in. Whatever I end up doing should work fine since I'm really only clearing out a tiny bit of space; it's just a matter of making it look clean.🙂

It's the Gigabyte Windforce.

It finally fit, but if I had to try squeezing a single hair through there, it wouldn't have happened. 😁

Hey there,

Is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 actually any better than the Corsair Arcadia?

Here’s the deal: I can't find a single decent review for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 (not that I'm picky!), so I figured I'd just ask you guys—should I pull the trigger on the Cooler Master or stick with the Arcadia?

The issue is I can't find any decent reviews for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 (not that there are many anyway), so I figured I'd just ask you guys: should I go with the Cooler Master or the Arcadia?

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 is the better case. You basically get four fans right out of the box, whereas the Arcadia only gives you one. It's generally built better too and is easily the current best buy. The only difference between the Z3 and the Z3+ is that the Z3+ has a clear side panel; everything else is identical.

Everything you mentioned is correct, but the Z3 actually comes with three fans, whereas the Z3+ features four plus a plexiglass panel.

I don't want to clutter things up by starting a brand-new thread, but I was wondering how you all handle your side fans? Should they be pulling air in or exhausting it out? I haven't spent a huge amount of time digging through forums, but it seems like both approaches are pretty common. That said, when looking at official specs from brands like Corsair, they usually suggest front and bottom intake, while the rear and top act as exhaust...

Check out this power button mod! X2100 power button

I need to find someone to spray paint the front bezel, but I'll deal with that when the time comes. 😵

Here’s the shot:

The connector from the old bezel still works...

Later.

If you’ve got a dust filter installed, set it as an intake. If you aren't using one, just have it as an exhaust. 😁

If you're looking at how to create proper airflow—I guess there’s some logic to it—I’d probably keep the side panel set to intake.

Hey there,

I’m currently weighing my options for a new build, looking at picking up an MS Voyager case paired with a GTX 950 1GB dual-fan model and an Intel Core i3-4170.
Now, here is where I find myself scratching my head: given this specific setup, am I actually going to need extra case fans? I’ve been reading through various threads suggesting that neither the i3 nor the GTX 950 are exactly known for running hot or pulling massive amounts of power, and honestly, looking back at some of the hardware suggestions I've seen posted on here, it seems like nobody even bothered to include extra cooling in their builds.

You could have just asked that in your own thread, because installing fans isn't exactly considered "PC Modding."

Anyway—a) those components don't strictly require them to function properly, and b) you probably skipped them to save some cash, which ties right back into point A.

Guys, I need some serious backup here! I’m currently deep in the middle of a total DIY, "backyard engineer" style PC Modding project, and I’ve hit a bit of a wall. How on earth can I attach a glass panel to my case so it swings open just like a door? Honestly, my brain is totally stalling out on this one—I can't seem to find a logical way to make it work. -,-"

Come on, throw some ideas my way! Once I get this sorted, I’ll definitely post some photos and walk you all through how I put the whole thing together! 😁

Help me out so I can finally post some pics and show how I put this thing together. 😁

Go to Home Depot, grab some small hinges, and boom... there you go.

Oh, bless your heart!! I honestly can't for the life of me remember what they're called... was it "washers"? Hahaha!😵😵😵😵😵😵

Thought I’d breathe some life back into this thread by showing off a project that’s basically been a total PC Modding overhaul from top to bottom. I didn't keep a single scrap from the old case; this thing is entirely custom-built using wood, plexiglass, and high-grade polymers. Feel free to fire away with questions or critiques—though I wouldn't mind a little praise here and there if you think it looks alright. 😁
Forgot to mention, the front and top panels are still a work in progress.

I didn't reuse a single part from the old case; the whole thing was custom-built from scratch using wood, plexiglass, and high-grade plastics. Forgot to mention that the front and top panels aren't quite finished yet.

I haven't really delved into the whole PC Modding scene myself, but I did put this build together from scratch, so I suppose I should show it off. I wasn't entirely sure if there was a specific sub ever dedicated to sharing photos of our "pride and joys," much like those "my rig" threads you see elsewhere. For what it's worth, this is easily the most expensive and, if I do say so myself, the most aesthetically pleasing machine I've ever owned. 😒
