Alright, sounds good. They're hitting New York City in September and might end up swinging back through here again...

Jerry Patel6 said:Metallica are absolute legends!!! And yeah, it's true, they basically stole the show from The Rolling Stones, finishing about 25 minutes early.

All in all, I had a great time. How about you guys?

So, does that mean you'll actually learn how to spell their name right by their next gig? 🙂
I've seen them a few times now, and I think this might finally be "it." They sound incredible, the energy is just perfect, and while I thought Gabi was a great vocalist, the singer from Japan definitely brings more raw energy to the stage.
Anyway, it was a pretty decent night for me. If that heavy bass amp hadn't nearly crushed my foot, I suppose it would have been even better... 😬

Did I screw up and type their name wrong? My bad..

If anyone’s actually planning on bringing them to New York City, let me know—I’d love to see them back at AOL.

Jerry Patel6 said:I suppose I might have misspelled their name somewhere. My apologies...

Well, it’s a small thing—it shows up in the title, the intro, and a few other spots. It’s Metallica, not Comittee.
I guess it might seem like I'm nitpicking, but if you're acting as the organizer, you really ought to get the band's name right. It seems like it would be helpful to look them up beforehand, especially since they play in New York City quite often; it feels a bit strange that someone stepping into an organizing role would be this uninformed. But then again, maybe it's just because Jerry Patel6 is still finding his footing, and Matt used to take such good care of us before he left.

You're right, Matt basically spoiled you guys...

I've heard nothing but hype about Metallica—everyone says they're the absolute best—but I haven't actually made it to one of their shows yet. You're totally right, my bad. Publicly apologizing here to anyone I offended with that mistake; I'll watch my mouth from now on.

But hey, regardless of how they write their songs, they still rip!!

And yeah, if being Jerry Patel6 means being green, then fine—once I grow up, I'll change my handle :-D
Everything in due time, man. I'm leveling up every single day...

Maybe you think I'm just nitpicking, but if you're the organizer, you should at least know how to spell the band you're booking. Honestly, it would be nice if you'd actually looked them up beforehand; they play in New York City all the time. It feels strange that someone stepping into an organizing role is this uninformed. But hey, you're still Jerry Patel6, and Matt spoiled us way too much before you came along...

Just leave the guy alone.🙂

First off, even band members can't spell their own names half the time (just look at Alex Scott22's old announcements on the forums).

Secondly, I don't see why someone can't book an opening act they haven't personally listened to, provided they've done their research and liked what they heard.

Thirdly, Matt is running shows at a different venue now. He isn't a saint, and we shouldn't have to compare every single thing someone does at AOL to his concerts... give the guy a break, damn it.

Fourthly, you know I love you...😘

First off, I suspect that even band members fail to spell his name correctly in the vast majority of cases—if you bother to look back at Alex Scott22's older posts on the forum.

I suspect alcohol might be the culprit here, if I'm being honest. 😬

I suppose I don't quite see the issue with someone choosing an opening act they haven't personally listened to yet, provided they’ve actually taken the time to look them up and heard enough good things to be interested.

I suppose it’s fair to say that they’ve certainly been making quite a bit of noise in New York City lately, if that's true...

I guess we should probably give the guy a chance; he’s still booking shows at different venues, after all. It’s not like the late legend would want us constantly measuring everything others do at AOL against his old concerts... maybe we just need to back off a little.

I suppose I'm willing to give him a shot; he seems quite humble and self-effacing in his previous post. 😍
I suppose I should promise to stop lecturing him in public; perhaps if an offer is truly irresistible, I'll just stick to sending him a private message instead. 😬

I suppose you already know how much I truly care about you. 😘

Living here in Chicago, I suppose you just end up running into all sorts of characters. 😛

Regardless of how things turn out, I guess the truth is you can still catch a decent concert at AOL every now and then🙂
so, yeah, thanks

Metallica, haha...

Someone should probably tell Nicole Baker she’s way too young to be hanging out at AOL!
Or maybe not, I guess she could just book a show there instead, hehe.
