I remember reading a column back in my college days—it was one of those Q&A sections in a health magazine—where someone asked if it was actually "normal" to have one nostril slightly more congested than the other. I honestly thought it was hilarious at the time; just a trivial little thing, right? But now, even though I’ve been over this cold for ages, I’ve noticed that I can’t seem to breathe through both nostrils equally. It’s as if one side stays perpetually, slightly blocked... goodness me. Has anyone else ever dealt with something similar? I don't think it's a major medical crisis or anything, but still... it's just there.

Not a big deal 🙂
One side is always more congested than the other because of my deviated septum.

And honestly, how am I even supposed to know what that entails? Is this really how it’s going to be for the rest of my life? It’s—well, it’s a bit irritating, to say the least.

Don't sweat it. God forbid any real trouble shows up 👍 (though they usually find you sooner or later)

I guess I deal with the exact same thing, though it only seems to hit me during the winter months. I basically have to keep nasal spray on hand constantly just to get through the season. Honestly, I’ve never even bothered seeing a doctor about it. I just figure it’s the central heating in my apartment making the air way too dry, maybe? It's probably just that classic winter dryness.

I’m dealing with the exact same struggle here. I can't seem to function without my nasal spray, it’s become a total crutch, but at the same time, I’m fully aware that those drops have absolutely wrecked my nasal lining. Now, I’m stuck dealing with constant issues all year round because of it.

I’ve been dealing with these exact same issues since I was seven years old. Now that I’m sixteen, the whole thing has started getting seriously irritating, so I finally went to see a specialist at the Mayo Clinic for a checkup. They did an exam using a tiny camera to look inside my nose and discovered that my cartilage is thickened—specifically, there are these narrow passages called polyps. Apparently, they’re connected to the middle ear canal, which explains why it messes with my hearing and my sense of balance. It isn't anything life-threatening or anything, but they told me if it keeps bothering me this much, I'll likely need to go under the knife for a quick 15-minute procedure and be back home by the next day.
