Man, you guys are overthinking this so hard it actually hurts!!!
I am seriously so proud of our national team because they aren't scared of anyone, and honestly, they just don't give a damn who's lined up next on the schedule.
For all you people sitting there crunching numbers and calculating every little thing, I’ve got one question for you—and I’d really love to hear your take: what if we had a total meltdown and lost to Iceland in the quarterfinals? Do you honestly think a single reporter would be writing about how we "got lucky" or saying we should have played it safe regardless of the loss?

Let’s be real here, we’ve already taken down the Americans, the Russians, and the Spaniards—those were basically the heavy hitters of this tournament. I mean, who is even left to worry about? 😉 We’re just on such a different level from everyone else that even the refs can't find a way to mess with us.

Argentina isn't even that bad. Honestly, they only beat us because we missed about five or six easy shots and they were just messing around at the end like they always do—except back then they hadn't really developed that winning mentality yet. 🙏 🙏

Plus, the Polish squad doesn't have such young talent right now.

Look, both sides were playing some weird-ass game. It ended up how it ended. It's hard to get a real read on things because the rosters were all over the place and both sides were screwing up (at least that's how it looked to me). But I still walk away feeling like we're the stronger squad.

Their defense is total garbage, and their entire offense basically relies on fast breaks. If we can just shut down those transitions, we've got a 50% chance right there. Of course, that's assuming we even run into them again. And I seriously doubt we will.

Man, are we really this blind? Did those Spaniards seriously rig the whole thing?! There's just no way they can pull off a win against the Germans in the quarterfinals now. It feels totally scripted!

The whole quarterfinal setup feels just like the Olympics. Back in Athens, the Russians ended up dropping three games during the group stage—losing to Korea, Spain, and us—but then they went out and took down the French in the quarterfinals (who had been undefeated until then) with a 26-24 win, and actually walked away with the bronze.

You seriously think they were just chilling out? Getting hammered by Germany and then getting absolutely wrecked by Iceland doesn't exactly scream "rested" to me.

Just a quick question... which one is actually easier? Thinking about how our guys usually choke during the closing stages of previous tournaments.

a) Iceland in the quarterfinals, then Poland or Russia in the semis

b) France in the quarterfinals, then Germany or Spain in the semis

...easy to act smart when you factor in the gold medal, but this is, as the old folks say, a total no-brainer...
