I’m honestly obsessed with colored contacts. I’ve cycled through pretty much every shade imaginable, and let me tell you, some of them just hit different. People always harp on about the expiration dates, but if you actually take care of them, they last way longer than people give them credit for. And those horror stories about infections? That’s strictly a hygiene issue, plain and simple. I’ve never had a single problem because I actually know how to clean them properly. Honestly, all that fear-mongering is just nonsense...

I wouldn't call them old wives' tales—honestly, you shouldn't wear colored contacts for more than a few hours at a time. That tinted layer on the lens can actually trigger conjunctivitis if you aren't careful. My eye doctor—the one I go to for all my contacts—was pretty blunt about that with me.

Michelle Cook83, look, I’ve been doing this for years and have never had a single issue. I switched to contacts for a ton of practical reasons, really. You just have to get used to being obsessive about hygiene—it’s non-negotiable. Plus, these days there are those little cleaning gadgets that make things way easier and definitely cut down the risk of catching any nasty infections. And for heaven's sake, don't even think about wearing them in a swimming pool or the ocean. I’m usually in them from 7 AM until about 9 PM, and obviously, I use some rewetting drops if my eyes start feeling parched. If they do get dry, honestly, just try to force a quick cry to get things moving, 👍 I’ve never had a problem; if anything, I’m obsessed. It’s just that everyone’s eyes react differently to stuff...

I spent the entire summer swimming in the ocean while wearing mine, though I made sure not to dive under or get my face and eyes wet. They didn't bother me at all. It was wonderful being able to swim and enjoy the view. 😍 For the record, I am just wearing standard, clear contact lenses.

Just don't even think about wearing them in a pool or the ocean. I'm usually in them from 7 AM until about 9 PM, and I always keep some artificial tears on hand if my eyes feel dry. If they get too dry, just try to force a quick cry—works every time! 👍 I've never had a single problem; in fact, I love them. It's just that everyone's eyes react differently...

Lucky you!!!
