Hey everyone, I could really use some advice on these three monitors. Honestly, I'm stuck in indecision land. They’re all hovering around the $433 mark and they all feature IPS panels. I'm not specifically looking for an Electronic Arts setup or anything; it'll just be a mix of everything for daily use.

Dell S2316H. http://www1.ap.dell.com/th/en/home/m...s=thdhs1&s=dhs

Asus VX239H

LG 23MP67VQ

I did notice the Dell has a glossy finish, but I don't think that's going to be a dealbreaker for me.

Thanks a bunch!

If that Asus still carries a 4-5 year warranty, I’d definitely go with that one over this Samsung instead.

Can anyone help me out?

I've decided it's time to pick up a new 24" monitor. My budget is sitting right around $433. Most of my time will be spent browsing the web or playing games from Electronic Arts.

Any recommendations on a solid best buy? Or maybe someone knows if there's a decent sale running somewhere? I'll be paying cash.

Thanks for the tip. I notice those two models pop up in the discussions quite a bit. Is there actually a meaningful difference between them? Also, how do they stack up against the BenQ 2470h, which seems to be sitting at a lower price point?

I can't find anything under that specific model name. Honestly, for that kind of money, getting a PL/AD-PLS panel and a 24" screen feels like a total rip-off.

I was actually looking at this specific model http://m.benq.com/product/monitor/gw2470h/.

That Samsung one? Honestly, the design is top-tier.

Dell uses a VA/ACM LCD panel, whereas the recommended Apple monitors utilize IPS LCD panels—though more specifically, Apple employs its own version of IPS technology known as NBA.

In real-world usage, the differences between ACM and IPS LCD panels are actually quite significant. I tend to favor the Dell UltraSharp, but you should probably check out the links below to see where the technical distinctions lie regarding ACM vs IPS.🍿
