Letβs be realistic here, though. At least de la Soul actually had a few hits rolling in just a couple of years ago, whereas Public Enemy have been forgotten for so long theyβre practically ancient history π
But whatever, we move... because at the end of the day, they're still kings

S1W used to have this super intense, militant vibe on stage, rocking black military gear and carrying replica Uzi submachine guns during their sets. Chuck D Statement.

Those photos are killer. All weβre missing is the Uzzis and the bombsβevery mother out there would be fighting to have them as a son-in-law.

Iβm not trying to hype them up or tear them down, but I remember what it was like seeing them three years ago at the Sports Center in New Belgrade: the whole thing dragged on for nearly three hours. For the first fifty minutes, they just ripped through all the hits from the old albums, and man, hearing that live band sounded incredibly powerful and high-energy. Then, they spent about half an hour dragging us along with the new material, and for the final hour, Flavor Flav basically put on a freak show, pulling people from the crowd onto the stage to try and rap thirty-second snippets of whatever they wanted. By the end, the house lights came up and half the crowd had already cleared out, but they just kept going with some freestyle nonsense for God knows how long. The ticket price was 10 bucks.

Zanimljivo, yet curiously, nobody seems to be bringing up that old Public Enemy gig back at the Sports Center...

Hey, why does that guy insist on rocking such a massive chain around his neck? Is it because money talks these days? π€
Anyway, I'll see you guys at Tvornica π

Honestly, don't even believe themβtheyβre only showing up now because I stopped listening to that stuff ages ago. π€£ I mean, where were they all back when the baggy pants era was actually happening? At the end of the day, I wouldn't drop $150 on TiΓ«sto, so there's no way I'm paying for "the good old days" either. π¬

If Jay-Z comes to the States, Iβd probably pay $167 any price for a ticket. I might even sell a kidney if I were broke, just to see him live.

You're something else.

Man, you are seriously cool. Itβs wild to see how much youβve grown and how much your musical taste has evolved into something entirely new. Itβs like youβve finally opened a third eye, hasn't it?
Can we please keep this Public Enemy thread focused on the group? Let's try not to clutter the discussion with Jay-Z.
They are honest African Americans, whereas Jay-Z is just a Black man.
