I wasn't talking about some drug trip or those hallucinogenic mushrooms, but more like this totally blurred vision—where things get fuzzy, sometimes you see double, and you start hallucinating a little bit. That’s what I meant...
It’s pretty obvious there’s a connection to the drugs mentioned, so you can't just pretend there won't be consequences.

Look, obviously. There are consequences—plain and simple. Overeating, being a total couch potato... it all catches up to you. The key is moderation. Nothing is good in excess, right?

Nancy Ward37 said:A hallucinogenic effect? That sounds pretty sketchy to me because alcohol just doesn't hit like that. Are you absolutely sure someone didn't spike your drink? A reaction like that seems way over the top. This is why I always say: never leave the bathroom until you've finished your drink, and for heaven's sake, don't leave your glass or bottle lying around for anyone to mess with.

Honestly, I think there might be something going on here too. You're probably a bit too young to be dealing with consequences this heavy from drinking. Even though Springfield has a reputation for its heavy drinkers. Still, you made the smart call by deciding to quit once you realized you were losing control and couldn't tell when to stop. Personally, I've never understood why kids these days feel the need to drink until they pass out. Can't people just have a few drinks to get in a good mood without going overboard?! Good luck, and check back in every now and then so we know how you're holding up!👍 🙂

But honestly, it was smart of you to decide to quit once you realized you couldn't control yourself anymore and learned how to say "enough" when you feel it. Personally, I've never understood why kids these days have to drink until they pass out. Why can't you just have a few drinks to lift your mood? Good luck, and check back in every now and then so we can see if you're holding up!👍 🙂

Checking in. I still have a drink every once in a while, BUT...
I am being super careful about it now, and I only drink just enough...
I haven't even had one single time where I felt even slightly dizzy. 👍
And if there isn't a reason to, I don't drink at all...

Oh, and thanks for the compliment... I've always been one of those people who helps uphold the reputation of Springfield... 🤣 🤣 🤣

Since I’ve already stumbled onto this thread... let’s talk about the fallout from drinking...

Here’s a real-world example: say every Saturday I knock back about six beers before I even hit downtown just to get the engine running... or maybe a liter of some heavy stuff... then I'll grab another four beers once I'm out on the town. For me, that’s the sweet spot—enough to take the edge off and relax, but still feeling totally in control. So, what do you think? Is there actually going to be any long-term damage from doing that?

Way to go, that's the spirit!😘 Now you just have to prove to yourself that you can stay this way! It’s actually really refreshing to hear from guys who are smart enough to know when to call it quits.🙂

jadeseal81 said:Since we're on the subject... what about the long-term effects of drinking?..
Here's an example: say every Saturday I knock back 1.5L of beer before heading downtown just to get in the mood... or maybe a liter of something stronger like bourbon.... And then I'll have another liter of beer once I'm out. That's usually my sweet spot where I feel relaxed but totally in control... so, could that cause problems down the road?

Ask Bradley Barnes90! That's exactly how it starts! Maybe not quite like that, but it's definitely the next step. Once you start seeing stars, give us a shout if you haven't snapped out of it by then. Have you ever stopped to wonder why you feel like you can't even head out on the town without some kind of "fuel"? Clearly, there's something missing in your life, or you're hanging out with a seriously bad crowd. If you can't change the habits of your social circle, find a new crew!

Seriously though, everyone’s drinking... I swear I haven't met a single group out there that doesn't have a drink in their hand...

Here’s my routine: every Saturday, I knock back about six beers before I even head downtown just to get loose... or maybe a liter of something stronger like bourbon.... Then once I'm out on the town, I'll have another four beers. That’s my sweet spot—enough to relax, but enough to stay in control. So, what kind of damage am I actually doing here?

It’ll kill you. But then again, everyone handles it differently. For me, three beers is plenty because I know if I go any further, I'll be a complete zombie the next day.

True enough... depends on the person, right? Plus, there's me—I've still got some life left in me, haha... But the mornings after? Forget about it, I'm toast. I always make sure to chug two or three glasses of water before hitting the hay, though.

Look, I actually FORGOT to drink any water because I didn't even bother going to the bathroom before crashing, nor did I even change out of my clothes—I just flopped straight onto the bed...
Normally, I can manage the basics even if I'm "walking wrong"—getting to the restroom, brushing my teeth, washing my face, grabbing some water... all that stuff is fine...

But seriously, I've always been pretty tough and resilient when it comes to this kind of thing, but every once in a while I feel like I might push it just a little too far... just enough to let things go south🙂

Please. Some guys can knock back five shots, down three liters of Budweiser a day, and feel absolutely nothing. Age isn't the benchmark here. Let's talk about limits...
My limit is three beers. Once I hit that, the next morning is a write-off. I’ll head out with friends, have a few drinks, but I never cross that line. Looking back, I only really get drunk a handful of times a year. Everything else stays within reasonable boundaries.

I rarely cross the border myself. Last time I actually did it was back in late June, and honestly, it wasn't even planned... So, what are we talking here? Like three 16-ounce beers or what?

Right... but what's the point of those tiny little 12oz ones anyway?
If I hit a fourth one, I know I’m going to wake up feeling hungover the next morning. And frankly, I’m not interested in that. 👎

It doesn't really matter how much you drink, because if you take it sloooowly, you could knock back 8 beers and feel absolutely nothing. Obviously, that's assuming you pace yourself over something like 6 or 7 hours...
Basically, you want to aim for a speed of about 1.5 beers per hour. 🤣 👍 🙂

Yeah, whatever... As long as people are drinking, right? But let's talk about the fallout... 🤣 🤣

The bar stool is basically my lecture podium,

I honestly believe it’s incredibly difficult to give a definitive answer when you're asking questions about exactly how much damage is being done...
It is almost a certainty that liver sensitivity varies wildly from one individual to the next, and there are countless valid reasons why someone should choose to drink less or cut it out entirely...
In my view, getting a bit tipsy once a week—say, on a Saturday night—is perfectly acceptable as long as it stays within a specific timeframe rather than becoming a year-round habit. Since it's summer, it’s totally understandable that this is the season for partying, going hard, and who knows what else... But after those stretches, it is absolutely vital to take some time to "reset" and recover...

Furthermore, whenever I do decide to drink, I make it a point to follow certain guidelines that have already been mentioned just to mitigate the negative impact of alcohol. For instance, I almost always opt for bourbon... It might sound a bit old-fashioned, but it feels much easier on my system... When I'm drinking, I always keep a bottle of sparkling or still water right next to me to sip on simultaneously. The results are night and day, because I wake up the next morning feeling like I didn't even go out at all...😎

If I actually bring $33, I’ll end up spending 120 bucks just to get buzzed, so lately I’ve been forcing myself to stay disciplined and only pack 30-$13...
Either that, or I bring more and blow it on things like pool, darts, or foosball.

Citizen Z. g. (42) was caught driving with a staggering 5.68 BAC

SPRINGFIELD—Officers clocked this level of intoxication during a routine patrol on Tuesday night around 11 PM on the stretch of road connecting Smalltown and Smalltown.

According to the police report, Z. g. was pulled over on an open road while operating a Ford Escort, clearly wasted.

Fearing he’d keep driving in that state, they hauled him down to the local precinct, where he spent the night before being released.

And honestly, how are we supposed to hold any pride in being from Springfield...🤣
It’s not just the town with the most churches; it’s the town that can out-drink anyone else in America...
Ahhhhh... true Americans right here... 🙂 🙂
