Should we start some kind of SPRINGFIELD - FACTS thread? You know, like those old Chuck Norris jokes or stuff about Jack...

For example:
Did you know...
-that Springfield is the only city on record where people actually suffer from low blood alcohol levels...
-that it's a local tradition for students to grab drinks and play pool with their professors...
-that there isn't a single street in Springfield without a dive bar...
-that when residents of Springfield head to the coast, they don't go a single day without a drink in their system...
🤣 🤣 🤣
I'm being serious here—it's all just written as a joke...
I can keep them coming if you want...

I reckon they're gone (consequences)

Sure, there might be some fallout later on, but if people actually paid attention to EVERY single consequence, they wouldn't be able to live their lives at all.

Give me a break, people—what are you even talking about? Two or three beers...

In the States, it’s totally standard to head out on Friday or Saturday nights and just plow through endless rounds of cocktails, beer, and whiskey shots. Even back in college, that was just how it went; it was completely normal for a couple of people to polish off an entire bottle of whiskey or vodka in one night. And honestly, women drink way more than the amounts being mentioned here.
Once you wrap up school and actually start working—meaning you're in your 20s—it is absolutely normal to go out and just "go crazy." We aren't talking about counting out 1.5 liters of beer or whatever. It's normal to get hammered. People are doing body shots and stuff.

Then you come over to America and everyone gives you these weird looks because you had, what, two or three beers? Or heaven forbid, more than a shot or two of tequila? What kind of person spends their time in bars where people just sit there sipping on a single drink all night or maybe two? There isn't any real high-energy partying unless you're at some crusty dive bar. You won't find it in those cool cocktail lounges or anything else. Same goes for private parties and backyard BBQs.

What’s with all this talk about "control"? I'll worry about self-control when I'm married with kids. Right now, I'm single, I'm in my 20s, I've got a job, and I want to live a little. That's me and 99.99% of the people I see out and about. Come on, Americans, just loosen up.

What do you mean, "control"? I'll start worrying about control when I'm married with kids. Right now, I'm single, I'm in my 20s, I have a job, and I want to live a little. That goes for me and 99.99% of the people I see out there. Come on, Americans, just loosen up.

Don't take this personally, but it seems like people in the US abstain from alcohol when you compare them to the residents of Springfield when they're really letting loose... 😁
True, we don't really do cocktails unless it's a cocktail party where they're cheaper; otherwise, they're basically just meant to finish you off...
But seriously, it is unbelievable how much people drink here. It’s honestly indescribable; I've seen very few cities where people drink as much as they do here.

Grandma said:Honey, how about you go back and actually read the opening post carefully for once?
The whole thing about waking up and seeing painted walls and all that! That's the entire point! It's not about being an addict.

I mean, honestly, no matter how intense those rare trips might be, if someone barely ever touches the stuff and doesn't drink otherwise, they aren't an addict.

I get those total blackout scenes too whenever I mix tequila with beer...

Back when I was a younger guy, I used to party way too hard, drink constantly, etc. Honestly, I don't even remember half of what went down...

But here’s the interesting part...

I haven't touched the party scene in 8 years... I rarely drink anything in social settings, and if I do, let's just say I have one "respectable" night out a year... and I definitely don't mix my drinks...

So why is this happening to me now???

Random scenes from my past just start flashing before my eyes, things I can't connect to anything... you know that feeling when you're lying in bed, can't sleep, your mind is racing through a hundred different thoughts, and then suddenly—bam—something hits you out of nowhere...

Just three days ago, I remembered this one specific moment from a party... the scene involves my current wife (who was just a friend at the time)... up until three days ago, I had absolutely no idea this had even happened... it wasn't in my memory at all...

The scene is us sitting on the floor in some room with a few friends, and I'm totally losing it because of Vekija and some Budweiser, just cracking up at her purple daisy sneakers...

So now, over coffee the next morning, I mention it to her:
- "Man, we were sitting in that room, and there was this girl wearing sneakers with purple daisies, and I was absolutely killing her with how much I was laughing at them..."

And she just stares at me, looking pale...

I'm like, what are you looking at me for?

She goes: "That was ME!!!!!"

Good grief, I felt a chill run right through me...

And stuff like this happens to me quite often...

For instance, there's a scene that's been playing in my head for years... I'm gripping the bars of an elementary school basement window in my hometown, literally throwing up my internal organs...

But the kicker is... I was never even near that school except during the day, just passing by, or maybe occasionally shooting hoops on that playground... I was never at a party, let alone anywhere near that school... I was never (nor was I drinking) anywhere that would require me to pass by that school on my way home...

But I remember it like it was yesterday... How did I get there? Why? Where was I? Where did I go after? It remains a mystery...

So if you're asking me if there are consequences... THERE ARE!!!!!😉

Unfortunately, I tend to remember pretty much everything—except, obviously, for those moments when I actually pass out. Aside from that, my memory is almost perfect...
it’s just that by the next morning, certain details slip my mind, but then they usually come flooding back a few days later...
