🙏

I honestly don't know how I talked so much under those conditions. Now that I have nobody to talk to, I just end up doodling constantly. Clearly 🙂

Yeah, tell me about it. 😍 I can definitely relate.

My top 3 things to do during spring when nobody's watching:
1. Staring at stars in the street
2. Hugging trees
3. Chatting with cats

Only thing is, if anyone notices: No Tintin?
My take is: there's no Tintin.

Whatever, doesn't matter. Everyone who needs to be there is there. Maybe I'd swap the order slightly: New York City 😍 Los Angeles 😍 😍 and Marsupilami 😍 😍😍 should be right under Tom Sawyer.

2. hugging trees

Now, John would probably shout—"Treehugger alert!!!"

9. Los Angeles
10. Runda

I'm sure I missed a few, but whatever...
One thing though, if anyone notices: No Tintin?
My response is: definitely no Tintin.

I don't know numbers 4, 6, and 10, but if they're on par with 2, 3, 5, and 7 (my all-time favorites), respect. 🙏

Screw Tintin (who people pronounce "Tan Tan" 🙄) — screw him!

My answer is: There is no Tintin.

And what about that Leopard guy with the springy tail???? What was his name again, oh man

@Kevin Chavez3 - I just couldn't resist him😍

Leopard? 🙂 That's Marsupilami 😍 and he's right up there under Spirou. When I was a kid, I totally wanted a Marsupilami as a pet. Too bad they aren't real. 😢

Carol Jackson45 said:Top 3 things I love doing in the spring when nobody's watching:
1. making star patterns on the street
2. hugging trees
3. chatting with cats

If I actually tried to pull off some spontaneous wave motion—you know, like making a star shape on the pavement—not only would every seismograph in the country pick it up, but I’d probably end up on the front page of the New York Post by morning and be the lead story on FOX news...
As for the tree hugging, I do that fairly often, though it usually has less to do with the season and more to do with having way too much of certain liquids in my system...
And honestly, what's so weird about talking to cats? I regularly hold full conversations with the stuffed animals I buy for my niece. (To get ahead of the inevitable question: no, I don't talk to cars. Never. But I definitely find myself chatting with the spiders lurking in the corners of various rooms in my house...)

How on earth should I describe him?

Isn't this Spirou? image

I feel like I've seen comic strips featuring nothing but him before.

A friend of mine does that all year round—doesn't matter if anyone is looking or not. We actually have some photographic evidence of her tree-hugging sessions. 😁

I love spiders. Once, I accidentally crushed one in a door and spent the whole afternoon crying about it. Speaking of crying, here’s my recent Billboard Hot 100 of things that sent me straight into an emo spiral:
Watching that Ethiopian kid crush the 3000m at the track championships the other day... seeing his fans go wild actually made me feel a little choked up.
2. that little spider
Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael (pretty sure I’m the only one here who can actually enjoy a mindless teen flick).
Oseam. Pasmater and that movie... I was obsessing over them the whole drive from Tuskanac back home.

Here’s little Spirou. And here’s the big guy, hanging out with Fantasy.

Here are my top 5 tracks that I scream at the top of my lungs, even though I have zero vocal range, terrible hearing, and absolutely no clue how the lyrics go:

5. Billboard Hot 100 - I've Got BSE
4. Billboard Hot 100 - Love You More
3. Billboard Hot 100 - Dance the Night Away
2. Billboard Hot 100 - Strength to Endure
1. Billboard Hot 100 - I Live for That Look

Honestly, when it comes to the ranking, there are a few others I actually dig even more than Asterix or Tom Sawyer, but man, those two are objectively top-tier. They’d probably be sitting at the very peak if I wasn't such a massive fanboy for Andrea Franquin—you can tell because three of his works made the cut in my top ten.

Kevin Chavez3, Black Ideas is basically that Franquin comic where he threw in all those jokes that were way too twisted for Gaston and Spirou... Around here, it sometimes pops up under the name Crle. The other one, New Innovator, gets published as Achilles Petlić—the original title is Achilles' heel, I think?—and it's definitely one of my personal favorites. Especially with the American translation, where the neighbor is called Zika Kukumalo. Ronda (can't remember the original title) is just okay; the shorter episodes are kind of a drag, and I might swap it out for Cock-a-doodle-doo or something even more obscure on the list (like Peca and Ceca or even Prpabata and Zortalija)... but thanks to one brilliant long story about trained Nile horses (the ones with the little propeller hats on their heads) that was featured in Comic Gem, it earned its spot in the top 10.

Sandra Chase16: yeah, there are comics that focus solely on Marsupilami, but the best parts are always the pages featuring him (and that squirrel Spip) mostly within Spirou...

I actually enjoyed that review of the gondolin WC; I’ve nearly broken my neck in there more than once... 👎 But you don't really have a choice when they're handing out free pizza whenever the DDK is in town... 😢
