Look, even I thought it sounded unbelievable, but hey, the guy is a vegetarian...

It’s definitely worse, but whatever...
I honestly think he might end up losing his girl and himself in the process.
And by the time he's at his funeral, there won't be anyone left to play him a single note.
That's just how I see it.

The #1 highlight from my midnight stroll with the pup around the neighborhood:

1. Midnight. The low hum of cars cruising down the main boulevard drifts through the bushes.
Some local knucklehead in a blue VW Golf Mk3—sporting those cheap alloy rims—pulls up under the high-rise next door to drop off his date. He’s waving his hands around in total bravado, trying to impress some girl who looks like she wandered off a suburban high school campus, cranking the music so loud the windows rattle. You can tell the guy has an Aniteč subwoofer installed. Ten seconds later, a light flicks on on the fourth floor; a window slides open, and PTSPJevac—a guy I recognize from the neighborhood—starts screaming at the guy below (who, let’s be honest, can’t hear a thing) to shut that garbage up before he comes down and smashes the car. The bass just keeps thumping away.
Then, out of nowhere, the sound of a shattered jar of pickles hitting the roof of that blue Golf pierces through the beat, absolutely terrifying my dog, who had been peacefully sniffing the grass about twenty yards away. A solid dent. Pickles all over the hood. Suddenly, the music cuts out. The guy steps out of the car in pure disbelief while the girl scrambles into the passenger seat, clutching her head in panic, effectively surrendering to PTSPJevac. Lights start popping on in every other apartment and across the street. It turns into this massive, synchronized shouting match between neighbors—a rapid-fire exchange of insults punctuated by sporadic threats of physical violence and property damage. Another neighbor joins the fray, explaining to the driver in a highly curated selection of profanities that if he doesn't kill the noise in the next two seconds, he's getting an old armchair tossed from a balcony straight into his windshield. Not one to back down, the guy opens a second front of argument, completely ignoring the consequences. Suddenly, near the front of the car, right by the hood, in a scene worthy of a low-budget indie war movie, a plastic pot filled with dried-up flowers or freshly planted pansies explodes against the ground. The guy glares at two scrawny drunks in army jackets standing by the building entrance—who had stumbled out of the local dive bar in the meantime—and barks, "What?! What are you looking at?!?", to which they sheepishly reply, "Nothing, man, we're just..." before retreating. He hops back in the car and peels out, tires screeching, leaving the street behind. For another ten seconds, the neighbors kept yelling at each other, essentially congratulating him on the well-coordinated "attack," with special kudos going to our neighbor Matić for her precision in using her balcony watering can to repel the assault without ever having to leave her defensive position.
Midnight ten. The hum of cars on the boulevard continues. My dog, having finished his business, is peeing by the curb.
"Hey, nice dog! Does he know how to sit?" a drunk guy yells at me near the entrance.

I think you might end up single and totally lost
and at your funeral, they'll just be playing tiny sand sounds
I told you so

I was gonna suggest a death-match eating contest, but damn, that's hard to pull off without any meat involved... we'll have to brainstorm something else. 😘

Well, look—you were exhausted, you turned in for the night, all that jazz... 🙂 so I figured I’d just let you sleep and not bother you... 😬 😉

The most underwhelming thing today:
1. A scratched CD.

The absolute highlight of my day:
1. The CD is scratched so badly a square inch of that silver coating actually flaked off, leaving a transparent hole. Just wonderful. 😍

😁 I’ve got a pile of them too, and I still can't fathom what kind of force would be required to cause that kind of damage. There isn't a conscious bone in my body that could pull off something like that. I'm blaming my younger sister.🙂 The most absurd part? A couple of them actually play fine; you just have to skip over that one scratched section...😵

I know you can do that with a key, but just spontaneously?? Like, they're sitting there on the table and just destroy themselves?? 🤔
Yeah, definitely the younger sister! 😈

A buddy of mine picked up one of those things—didn't notice a thing about it—and handed it over to me to blast some Elvis. I didn't catch anything either. Just cranked it until the damn thing hit its limit and died. 😁

My top 3 thematic CDs—based on volume alone—from that old stash of Tower Records discs I have just sitting around my house for some reason:

The romantic collection—you’ve got everything from the vulgar stuff to Italian, Russian... you name it—there are at least 15 different examples in there.
Top 10 Disco Anthems — A Quick List
3. Rock collection (and I’m being pretty loose with what qualifies as "rock") — here are 10 examples:

And she actually found a promotional snippet of an audio attack from ExxonMobil. 🤣

Since I spent far too much time under the delusion that coffee was the only acceptable beverage for dunking, I’ve spent the last few days conducting some exhaustive research. Here is my official report:

The top 5 items for tea dunking:

1. Hostess snacks (especially with hot tea; you just have to time it right so the chocolate melts perfectly and the cookie softens just enough... 😍 ))
2. Biscoff cookies (the gold standard for ergonomics—you dip it halfway, bite off the first part, and then the second half is the perfect size for a single mouthful)
3. Those bright yellow, high-margarine cookies sold as "Grandma's Tea Cookies," even though we all know no actual grandmother has ever laid a finger on those recipes or touched a single one during production...
4. Chocolate-covered wafer cookies (the chocolate coating melts beautifully, though the wafers themselves tend to get a bit too mushy if you linger too long)
5. Gingerbread (the older they are, the better they get 🙂 ))

Deeply inspired by Joe DiMaggio from Seinfeld... 😁

Laura Gonzalez44 said:I know you can make that happen with a key, but just like that? Out of thin air? You’re telling me they’re just sitting there on the table, minding their own business, and then suddenly they just... self-destruct? It sounds like something out of a low-budget sci-fi flick. 🤔
It’s the younger sister, without a shadow of a doubt. 😈

Ah, those younger sisters... they really are something else. 😬
I tried to pop that metal component off just once, and let me tell you, it required some serious brute force to get it loose. I get the logic—you want to prevent dust buildup or accidental scratches on the disc—but this feels like overkill. It’s a bit much.
One of my more irrational, somewhat absurd little whims is this urge to performatively snap a CD in half—just a dramatic, theatrical destruction of the disc. I can’t quite put my finger on why it hasn't crossed my mind to actually do it yet. I have a stack of old discs sitting around at home that are practically begging for a demolition derby, but every time I get close, I find myself hesitating. I just can't bring myself to destroy them. It's a strange sort of lingering sentimentality for something so obsolete. I realize I could just go out and pick up a pack of blank CDs, but that’s really not what I’m looking for. It lacks the substance I need. 🙂
