I think I already mentioned this... ☕ Somewhere deep in the wilderness of this thread, though it was actually a Franco-Belgian list. And since René Goscinny was a Belgijanac, things like Asterix, Talični, and Umpah Pah definitely count towards that. As for Natasha, hey, a guy's got his tastes, but even she didn't make my top ten...

Edit: looks like Carol Jackson45 is way better at using the search function than I am...

Best description of Jimmy Somerville I've ever seen. 😂>

It’s basically French-Belgian since Dargaud is based in Paris and most of the creators are Belgian.
But damn, how did I blank on Asterix? Seriously, man... just totally slipped my mind.
I only ever read two Umpah Pah albums.

It's the same thing. If we're filling in the blanks, I'd suggest Umpah Pah.

Then again, Marsupilami eventually got its own solo run without Spirou. Umpah Pah was alright, though.

The write-up is solid, but honestly, half the reason Jimmy is such a legend is because he actually fits that vibe perfectly. Like, once the whole "pretty boy" thing faded away later on, all you really had left was that voice and—let's be real—mostly mediocre songs. But Bronski Beat... man, they were geniuses for packing that much pure frustration and rage into dance tracks instead of just making some loud punk anthem... 😍 If I were back home right now, I'd definitely be spinning the Age of Consent vinyl... 😢

Same publisher, same title, just slapped on as a standard Spirou issue... it's not like Gaston🙂

My bad if I messed that up. 🙂

But honestly, the solo Marsupilami run was just terrible... 😲

Little Spirou, too. 😢

I didn't even know that existed. Honestly, those spinoff comics and "child versions" of established characters always turn out to be total garbage.

Man, I didn't even get around to reading that. But thanks anyway—today's episode was seriously adorable! 😘
My little Spirou is doing just fine, honestly.

Diesel is pretty cool, maybe even top 10 for me. Questionable, though—not really metal material, more like indie vibes. It’s a little pre-emo, but it’s got that soap opera effect, you know? Chase Amy 😬

Two absolute gems of headlines on the exact same topic, appearing yesterday and today:

The New York Post yesterday: The land where every girl will be saying "yes" today 😂 😈
The New York Times today: Mexico without the sea! 🙂

That headline in The New York Times is just pathetic... honestly, bottom of the barrel. I’m embarrassed they even put something like that on the front page... though, I guess it is kind of funny. 😈

Honestly, they both look like total luxury to me. I don't know why anyone would even feel ashamed about it. 👋

That whole "I don't care if my neighbor's cow dies" attitude is pretty infuriating...

But then again, if we’re being pedantic—Mexico never actually had any access to the ocean to begin with! 😈

I saw that "genius" logic last night too—but hey, that’s how it works—Madeleine Albright won't let anyone meddle in her business 👍 ... meanwhile, some guy thinks he can just shred on guitar without even looking at sheet music, give me a break 😂
