Jacob Roberts27 said:Karl Rove on guitar,
Harvey F on drums, and
Bob Ross on bass and synth
now that would be a hit!

I'm not even sure I could pull off the drums... hmm... :P

Mark Knopfler - lead guitar and vocals
Jaco Pastorius - bass
Joe Satriani - guitar solo
Just go ahead and conjure up those drum beats in your own head.

Heh, I knew someone was gonna lose it...
Look, SY makes the best noise ever (honestly, right up there with Hendrix), but if they didn't have that sense of counterweight, they wouldn't be even half as legendary as they are.
And if I sat down right now to put together a playlist of my favorite SY tracks, I’m pretty sure Kim would be on vocals for like 95% of them... 😳

What an incredible guitar performance.
Lucky Luciano on vocals.

The band: The Rolling Stones.

If I could put together the ultimate dream lineup, it would look something like this:

Vocals: Chad Gray (Mudvayne)
Rhythm guitar: James Hetfield (Metallica)—or maybe someone like Slipknot’s No. 7—who could probably handle lead too, but let's stick with this 🙂
Lead guitar: John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
Bass: Robert Trujillo (Metallica)—or maybe that guy who plays with Steve Vai 🙂
Drums: Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Joey Jordison (Slipknot), or Matt McDonough (Mudvayne)

I guess three different bands are doing most of the heavy lifting here, but man, this would be my perfect combo🙂

The best band out there has been around forever, and it’s obviously The E Street Band.

Without them, they'd be just another washed-up act, like trying to imagine Nirvana without Kurt Cobain.

Look, they might be the best, but let's be real here... they aren't the best band in existence, just the best Springsteen band, if that's even what we're talking about...😛>

This is a damn good topic.
Picking the ultimate lineup? Honestly, it probably wouldn't even work because they're from such different eras, but let's play along.
Vocals: Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses), Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin)
Rhythm Guitar: James Hetfield (Metallica), Eric Clapton (Cream)
Lead Guitar: Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom), John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
Bass: Jason (Metallica), Terence Butler (Black Sabbath)
Keyboard: Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Ray Manzarek (The Doors)
Drums😳definitely someone from Dream Theater
Since the sound would be this wild mix of hard rock, blues, and heavy metal, I have no idea what they'd actually end up playing.

🙂

Clapton is shredding on that rhythm guitar...
"Better keep up, kid, if you don't want to get left in the dust while we're soloing."
🤣 🙏

Man, that actually cracked me up.

Hey slash112... totally 😁 just that Clapton guy on the rhythm—he's got no chance alongside James Hetfield, right? 😁

Man, seriously, where on earth did you manage to squeeze Clapton into this mess?
I guess I just realized while reading this that we really ought to specify what kind of setlists we actually want from these so-called "supergroups"... personally, I’d love nothing more than to hear a version of "Layton" performed by a band led by someone like Slash, assuming they aren't all too wasted to even find their instruments on stage 😬

It feels a little bit lazy, doesn't it... just tossing Cream in parentheses right next to Eric Clapton like that... I mean, has anyone actually sat down and listened to Derek & The Dominos or Blind Faith lately?
