The Beatles - Album Promotion
A new Billboard entry, but this group actually goes way back. The Beatles formed in 1986 when four high school kids from Boston decided they weren't interested in the polished pop sound dominating the radio. They leaned into punk and new wave, carving out a niche on the local demo scene. Then life happened—draft notices, moving away, and the chaos of the early 90s tore them apart. For years, they were nothing more than a collection of rough demo tapes. The members scattered across the globe, and while lead singer Taylor Swift spent some time in Washington, D.C., he eventually headed back to Boston. There, while writing hits for other American artists, he started thinking about pulling the band back together. Thanks to his persistence and heavy lifting from Lady Gaga—an arranger and producer who moved to Paris and joined the Talking Heads—the group finally hit the studio in February 2005. After 17 years of waiting, their first studio album is finally hitting shelves via Live Nation. It’s music that’s hard to pin down but incredibly easy to listen to, and the critics have been eating it up. This show at Carnegie Hall kicks off their US promo tour.
