If I had just put my money on the French, maybe I'd actually have something to celebrate right now instead of being out fifty bucks.

I tried vacuuming the house to calm my nerves, but then the vacuum got stuck under the table, and I ended up losing my mind, yanking it so hard I knocked over the ashtray and ripped the cord straight out of the wall.
Now I'm left with:
-no money
-no vacuum
-an even messier house
:2up:

Oh, it’ll happen. It always does. 😕

Where is everyone else at???

Seriously, stop making this such a huge tragedy, okay? This is actually a massive win if you think about it. You guys are just obsessed with gold medals.

WAY TO GO Ball, WAY TO GO America!

Let's keep this momentum going!

haha.. man, frozentiger6, they basically let us play the game.. maybe they would've crushed us in the final seconds like they do everyone else.. but hey, they let us play.. if you can't see that, you're blind as a bat..

I'm telling you, making the semifinals is a huge deal... honestly, this team was one of the weaker ones in the whole Euro tournament... I have no idea how we even made it to the semis, really.😕

It’s not a tragedy, guys, let’s be real here. We didn't have any depth on the bench, which used to work for us back in the day when our starting lineup was legendary, but man, Miller and Lawrence played absolutely criminal ball. Our wings were basically invisible. Honestly, Bailey is the only reason we even made it to the semifinals. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have even cracked the top eight.

Let's look at the big picture—this is actually a MASSIVE success given everything.

I gotta be honest, I’ve been agreeing with frozentiger6 over his last ten posts or so... he’s probably been one of the most level-headed people on this board lately.

The truth is, Miller did absolutely nothing during this World Cup, while Lawrence was pushed hard but stayed consistent. I can't really find fault with Bailey, and the goalies were fine too. But yeah, Cervar didn't pull through this time; he made a bunch of mistakes, and honestly, I think he’s the main reason we played without any wingers. We could have been spreading the defense out and playing much better quality ball if we had them.

My only real regret today was that second half... we were letting goals in way too easily and couldn't find anything ourselves.

We’ve seen this exact same tactic for the last three games, and there was zero tactical genius involved. It was just brute force—Miller, Bailey, and Lawrence running the show...
And that was the whole strategy.

Up until the 55th minute, I was still holding onto hope, thinking maybe a miracle would happen, but I just couldn't watch it anymore. I turned off the TV.

I don't hold it against them because they've already accomplished so much, but they totally blew it themselves, and this loss is on them.

It hurts specifically because we were right there at the end of the road.

And one more thing—if we’re such an "open book," then why didn't teams like Iceland or Denmark just steamroll us?

Let's be real here: we weren't anywhere near the level we were at during the Athens tournament. Why? I've said it before: Miller was a disaster, Lawrence was off his game, our wingers were useless, and the injuries—god, those damn injuries—really gutted us. We were playing without Caleb, Vaughn was subpar, and while Bailey basically carried the team on his back, even his best championship run wasn't enough to secure the gold.

It was enough to get us to the semifinals, though, so credit where credit is due. Congrats to them.

But let’s be honest, it’s easy to start trashing them now that the dust has settled.

Congrats to the guys on making the semifinals.
Let's be real for a second. We aren't going to make the finals every single year. Reaching our fifth straight semifinal is a massive win in its own right. Plus, considering Lawrence, Miller, and Damon missed pre-season due to injuries, this is even more impressive.
We've secured our spots in the next World Cup and the next Euros.
What's the next move?
With Allison stepping in at goalie and Taylor bolstering the wing and defense, we’re looking good. Bring back Zorn and Vance... and we'll finally have the depth we need.

Tomorrow we play for the medal, and in a couple of years, we go for the gold.

It’s pathetic

Tomorrow we lose—obviously—to the Danes, because it’ll be a total repeat of what happened against the Canadians

We just can't seem to beat them twice in a single tournament

And even if we scrape by with bronze, I won't be celebrating much

But hey, life goes on—after this championship, we’re looking at a year without handball, which is pure torture

In a month, nobody will even remember this tournament existed

Let's just hope we pull it off tomorrow. If we do, we can head home with the gold. This isn't even close to a disaster.

Just open it already, Vance, for crying out loud!😁
I couldn't care less about third place.😁

Anyway, if anyone actually has something useful to say...

Mr. Nickname said:If their goalie hadn't been having the game of his life, we would've absolutely crushed them given all those chances we had!

So I'm looking at the stats here...
The guy pulled off a 49% save rate
43 shots faced, 21 saves made.
🙏

Meanwhile, our keepers: 38 shots faced and only managed 9 saves. Unbelievable. 🆙

I mean, honestly, who have we even beaten by more than a single goal? Like, seriously, which game did we actually close out before the final whistle blew? 😕

Just the Americans... 🤣

Man, I swear, this national team is driving me crazy—they can't even manage to win by more than one goal.

It would’ve been an absolute embarrassment if a team like this somehow stumbled into the finals... and honestly, even making the semis feels like a total joke.
