Well then, I guess we'll just have to push our gold plans off until 2008.
If nothing else, at least they won't kick us out of retirement right now. 🙂

We won't even make it to 2008 as a group.

Roger Allen3 said:I'm telling you right now... Foyer totally blew it because he didn't mess up the headline!!! GET FOYER OFF THE SCAFFOLDING!! 😠 😁

Yeah...
They aren't opening up any more semifinals. Period.😠

Terry Rodriguez41 said:Look, it’s obvious. The semi-finalists are gonna be the US, Tunisia, Canada, Switzerland, and Athens. Period.
And first off, there was that thing in Portugal back in March (I think?) 2003...

So, go ahead... do the math.

Dammit, maybe I just misread the whole thing.😁
Man, that’s three strikes right there. Total disaster.

Roger Allen3 said:I’ll tell you what... he totally botched it by not making a mistake in the headline!!!! HE TOTALLY MISSED THE MARK!! 😠 😁

Forget about him, he’s just some guy acting like he's from overseas.😬

Actually, no, let him start a thread discussing third place instead; that would be a much more fitting punishment.

Let's go America, we aren't giving up yet.

I’m offering you a requiem for the optimism you lost a long time ago...
That's quite a mindset you have there. 👎

The French side was just miles ahead of us—offense, defense, and especially in goal.
Chuck totally botched the tactical setup for this whole tournament, running two pivots and leaving the left wing wide open.
Metlicic only saw action in one game, we basically "babied" Mirza, and Vori and Sulic just don't click together offensively. Lackovic only played once, too, and our keepers maybe had two decent outings at most.
Balic didn't play great today (honestly, nobody did), but he’s still the best player on the roster.
The defense needed more teeth; we should've been running an aggressive 5-1 today, but instead, they were playing a 3-2-1 that doesn't suit the French style at all.
Sprem only got a real shot when we played the Mexicans, and he showed what he can do—if he'd played today, he would've gotten absolutely crushed.
The only game where we actually looked organized was that match against Mexico, playing like we did in Athens. We were rotating Sulic and Vori at the pivot, both wings were active, and it worked. In every other game, we lacked any sense of tactics or flow, and today, we didn't even have the right players feeling it.

Not really. He should just start a thread about third place instead—that would be a much more fitting punishment.

Let's go America! No giving up now.

They're gonna get wrecked.🙂

We need to put in the work...
Both physically and mentally, the players gotta be sharp.
And honestly, we desperately need some fresh blood.

That was the absolute worst possible spot to be in...
We would have been better off getting knocked out immediately.
If we move forward tomorrow, we'll be mentally broken, making a victory nearly impossible.

I’ll ask you again tomorrow once you've had time to process this "match"—isn't it actually quite remarkable that an American team playing like this twice in one tournament manages to finish among the top four?

Right now, I am speaking from a place of pure disappointment, but it is a well-known fact that our expectations often far exceed our actual capabilities. Finishing fourth is, by any objective standard, a significant achievement.

Tomorrow, I plan to put at least $33 on whoever we face—looking for a guaranteed payout. 😁

Am I allowed to start a new thread for tomorrow's game? 🙂

Come on, don't overdo it.
Plenty of "bigger" nations would treat their handball players like absolute gods if they actually pulled off what our guys did. No need to turn on them now.
I still think they're the best in the sport, hands down.
