The nominations this year are a complete joke—just an absolute disaster. Honestly, they should be embarrassed that they didn't even put Revenge of the Sith up for Visual Effects. 👎

Like I mentioned before—Star Wars is all hand-drawn animation... there aren't really any special effects involved here... 😉

Give me a break... I’m not exactly a massive Star Wars fan myself, but this level of forced continuity is just straight-up embarrassing.

I honestly don't even know what to say about the snubbing of Cinderella Man for Best Picture, or the fact that Russell Crowe didn't even get a nod for Best Actor. It feels like a massive oversight. And it’s not just them—The Constant Gardener missed out on the Best Picture category entirely, along with Ralph Fiennes missing his shot at Best Actor. Then you have Syriana, which also got left out of the Best Picture race. One major mistake they made, though, was overlooking Alexander Siddig; most critics were practically banking on him getting a Supporting Actor nomination for his role in Syriana. Luckily, the movie managed to save some face with George Clooney snagging a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about the Oscars. It all feels like a giant marketing ploy just to boost ratings and pad the profits. As long as there's actually good stuff to watch—and thank God we can still find a few gems now and then—I'm happy enough.

Are we having a disagreement? Regardless, I am sticking to my guns: Wolf is easily one of the worst films ever to be honored with an Oscar. Is it the script that fails us, or is it the acting, which makes even the most amateurish soap operas look polished by comparison? If it weren't for the cinematography, which is perhaps the only redeeming quality, the whole thing might have passed for a documentary. As it stands, the film is a mild catastrophe.

No land for old men is just a massive pain in the ass... A painfully boring movie.🤮
To me, they’re like wolves circling Angela Kern69... I guess everyone has different tastes.☕

And honestly, since I’m already here, why not? That’s what a forum is for—to argue, isn't it?

By the way, debating tastes is the whole point.

Personally, I can't stand movies without a solid score because, more often than not, the music is what actually elevates the film and drives home certain effects. And "No Country for Old Men" is just plain tedious and wildly overrated, so when all those elements fail to click...🤮

What can I say... I simply dislike it when something in a movie feels off. Beyond that, I don't really have any set demands (I mean, who am I to tell a director how to execute his vision?). It doesn't even need actors. It doesn't even need dialogue.
Given that everything feels "off" in my eyes on some sites, I just give them a high rating and move on. In some films, a character just walks into a room and sits on a bed, and frankly, that works for me. 🙂

Since everything about *No Country for Old Men* feels perfectly calibrated, I give it a high rating and leave it at that. In *No Country for Old Men*, if a character just walks into a room and sits on a bed, I'm totally satisfied! 🙂

I feel the exact same way. Though, it’s even better when Lewis decides to take someone down with a blunt object. 😁

I mean, I guess Jim Carrey should've grabbed an Oscar a long time ago...😁
