Absolutely brilliant. They were unfairly demonized.

Every single argument from the haters is standing on incredibly thin ice 🙂

It feels more like just an argument to me, personally.

It is genuinely refreshing that you finally decided to start an Ultravox thread. After being forced to endure all that Playing the Angel, Tool, Metallica, and 50 Cent nonsense, this feels like actual medicine for a wounded soul.🙏

I’ve got a huge soft spot for New York City and Dancing with the Stars

The 80s were just incredible 😍

And I'm not talking about the junk, but the real stuff—New Order, Visage, The Human League, New Order, Talk Talk, Blancmange, Duran Duran, Soft Cell, Pet Shop Boys...🙏 🙏

First off, they’re absolutely fantastic—I honestly have no idea where you all heard that people were hating on them!

My personal favorites have to be Reap the Wild Wind and Voice.

I might as well jump on the bandwagon and agree with Nicholas Perez33 on this one...

even if my personal take is that (with the honorable exception of New York City) the band really started losing their way once Foxxov left.

That second album, Systems of Romance, is an absolute masterpiece, though.!!!

I’m asking if anyone 🙂 would care to step up and say something against Ultravox 😲

I honestly feel like our crew is more solid than it’s ever been before! 🙂

Honestly, whenever someone mentions they’re into Joy Division or Sonic Youth, you instantly know they’ve got great taste and a certain level of cool
Ultravox used to be part of that same "cool" club—just a legendary band with an incredible reputation

If you’re into Joy Division, you basically have to love Magazine, Ultravox, Japan, The Sound, and The Comsat Angels... honestly, even those early New Order tracks.

And just like that, a wave of nostalgia hits me
It’s only right that I love Camouflage (The Great Commandment, Suspicious Love, Love is a Shield), Blancmange, Visage (Fade to Grey 🙏), and of course, New Order
Plus Propaganda too

Since we're already on the subject, we might as well just frame these words and call it a day!

👍 Since we're already diving down this rabbit hole of nostalgia and digging through all this old stuff, it actually made me think about putting on some Flock of Seagulls and their very first track...

Man, those 80s hairstyles were truly terrifying 😬 😁
(it immediately makes me think of the Lapidarium)

I mean, the band was founded by two brothers who were hairdressers 😬

but that first album is a masterpiece—the second one holds its own—after that, I haven't really listened

songs like I Ran, Messages, and Modern Love is Automatic... just incredible tracks 🙏

E. I was just reminiscing about the Lapidarium from years ago (last Friday) when we used to go out dancing to those bands. The nostalgia is real. A tear almost came to my eye 😢
Those were the days.
And I can still see those old wooden stages we used to dance and jump on.

(okay, it’s basically the same thing elsewhere, but those nights at the Lapidarium hold a special place in my heart)
