I was feeling so unmotivated to bike to work today that I seriously considered just selling my bike and buying a car instead. Honestly, it might actually happen. I'll probably just pick up another bike once summer hits... sigh...

The exact SAME thing happened to me with some jerk librarian back in middle school. He tried to push some picture book on me—think it was a little girl with scissors—so I called him out on it. He told me I was making stuff up and shoved a collection of short stories 😠 by Ella Enchanted into my hands instead. I lost it. After that, I didn't step foot in his library for the rest of eighth grade; I just stuck to the public library downtown.

Anyway, glad I learned how to quote early on... as payment for all those picture books, the kids at daycare used to let me take turns on the swings. 😁 🥳

It’s a shame I can't track down a copy of the hero of Pavlov Street anywhere; someone lost a beautiful vintage edition from the fifties... 😢

My aunts at the local library back in my neighborhood absolutely adored me—and honestly, they still do. I actually ran into one of them today on my way to work, and we had such a lovely catch-up. 🙂
