Because it’s their classic move—they screw you over by waiting until the very end. Once everyone has finished playing through all the planned and unplanned chaos, they just swoop in and flip the switch right after the fifth act...🙂 🙂

Kset's PA setup will be back in its rightful place today—I assume it won't be moved again for at least a year. 😉

Otherwise, the community hall is acoustically quite forgiving; those vaulted ceilings kill the vertical reflections, while the wood and curtains handle the horizontal ones. You can easily pull off good sound in there...

As for the loft, they were using Martin Audio speakers—first time hearing them, and they are genuinely excellent. They have such a wide dispersion that just two cabinets per side should cover the whole room perfectly. My only gripe: why weren't they raised another six inches when there was clearly the space? As it stood, the crowd ended up muffling the mids, which likely explains why the volume felt low...
And honestly, adding one more mid-high cabinet per side wouldn't hurt—just to have some extra headroom.

Honestly, I was going to do it, but then I saw my wife roll her eyes when I started walking toward the booth. She started arguing with those other guys, acting like I was just giving up on everything. I don't get it. It's not like I was begging for a handout! Guess they were just having a bad day...

Ohohooo... looks like that degree actually paid off! Tyler’s coming back to show us how the pros do it. 👋

Anyway, I have to admit—the bass players had the best sound setup of the night. Honestly, I ended up hanging out there longer than I did during my last five freshman years spent roaming the EDM floors... it was actually pretty chill for a bit. But man, once you realize every single track is just riding the same old drum and bass loop, you gotta bounce... 😁 . It’s a shame the concert didn't get as lucky with its sound quality.

If you only knew what people put the staff through at the coat check... every five minutes someone walks up and asks for their hat but not their jacket, or they want their scarf but want to swap jackets, and then everyone else is just standing around fuming because they have to wait. Plus, people seem to think the girls working the desk are there just to be hit on or whatever. If it were up to me, I'd put a security guard next to every single station just to shut down anyone brave enough to bother them... I'd personally step in, though I'm not quite strong enough yet😁 and then they lose their tickets (people can't even manage to hold onto a single scrap of paper <sorry Robert Wright4>) and start digging through coats... so now, good luck trying to prove he actually grabbed his own jacket instead of stealing someone else's. It's a mess.

I mean, those slips were so small—no wonder they kept getting lost.
I actually left my ID in my jacket, which would have let anyone verify who I was... some people even recognized me, while others just remembered my face, probably thanks to that massive tip I left 😁
Oh, and I spotted my jacket hanging by the door, too.

Put that lower gear right by the entrance. Or better yet, move it to the larger storage area on the ground floor 🙂 I know people love to roast the staff in the locker rooms—believe me, I've been there myself. But honestly, that’s not even the point right now...

They were all pretty upbeat and lively. 🙂

But hey, life isn't always easy...

It wasn't easy for me either, having to clean up everyone else's mess just to make a buck. But what can you do? Someone had to step up. 😉
