Don't bother, Laura Gonzalez44. She’s still trying way too hard to be "alternative" like us just so she can feel entitled to speak her mind.😬 πŸ˜› 😁 😁

Honestly, it's great 😍 and that's that.

And it isn't being pedantic.🀣

He isn't repulsive, but then again, he isn't much to look at either.😁

So, are we all just collectively obsessed with this poor, lost little puppy? It’s like everyone is losing their minds over itβ€”it's honestly kind of absurd

(well, except for New York, I guess, they're already heading to bed)

😒

You just never listen to me!
He’s gross; he actually bit me when I was a kid.

That view is pretty sweet... 😍

Firefighter, I actually know a few people with Golden Retrievers, you want me to hit them up?

Hmm, actually, I heard he’s been responding to the name Chris lately. 😈

And you're just being mean because you never brought him over to meet us when he was still just a little ball of fluff! πŸ™‚

:2up:
if we were going by Pat's logic, his name would probably be Adam (you know, from Maroon 5)

Susan Clark10 said:and you're just as much to blame since you never actually brought him over to see us when he was still just a little ball of energyπŸ™‚

even a little ball of energy needs a place to go to the bathroom, and you can't really do that without having a decent neighborhood first, can you?πŸ™‚

Hey there!

If you can actually manage to crawl out of bed after all that drinking and partying tonight, swing by the local community center tomorrow morning for their charity fundraiser. The crew from AAA will be hanging out, and honestly, I’m planning on showing up just to snag some free drinks. That is, if my head doesn't explode from this hangover first...

I'll be lurking around there from about 11 until 2. If you haven't seen me before, just look for the big, fat, bald, drunk, and clueless guy wearing glasses and clutching a drink... Honestly, there are better people to grab a beer with. Not many, but still...

So, are you saying it isn't cool to live right in the heart of the action?😁

Man, you just reminded me... here's my personal ranking of the best neighborhoods in the city:

1. Upper West Side
2. Brooklyn Heights (from the waterfront up to the park)
3. Old Brooklyn and the edge of Williamsburg
4. Manhattan proper
5. Greenwich Village

And downtown, even though it's more of a district than a neighborhood.😳

Wait, what kind of charity event is it? And will there be any live music?

Susan Clark10 said:What do you mean humanitarian? And is there gonna be any live music?

I don't really have all the specifics, honestly. I think they're just raising money for some medical equipment at a local hospital or something. Basically, the crew from Spa and Froggy will be out, cruising through downtown in one of those vehicles, asking for donations. It's kind of a "pay what you can" vibe. Anyway, I'm planning on hitting it up.

I'll probably make two rounds and drop twenty bucks just so I can feel like a big shot...

Susan Clark10 said:So, you're telling me it isn't exactly the dream to live right in the middle of downtown?😁

Living there... I don't know about that. Do they even have decent heating?πŸ™‚
And as for growing up thereβ€”hard pass. Where are the swings? Where’s the meadow, or somewhere you can actually ride a bike without dodging a taxi every five seconds?

Susan Clark10 said:2. walking distance (from the farmer's market to the arena)
3. the old district and the start of the outskirts

Man, talk about having zero taste...
The historic district isn't all it's cracked up to be either; it just feels spooky and damp.
And I honestly have no idea where this Maximilien neighborhood is supposed to be. Is that near where your grandma lives or over by the zoo side of town?

Good grief:

1. the industrial suburbs
2. the commuter towns
3. the north side of the city
4. the lakeside suburbs
5-6. downtown and the upper residential districts

I guess I just have an emotional connection to this place, what can I say? 😳

Samuel Murphy6 said:And I honestly couldn't tell you where the Highland Park neighborhood is. Is it near where your grandma lives, or over by the zoo side?

Yeah, that's definitely Highland Park. I have such fond memories thereβ€”my grandparents used to watch me when I was little, and we had swings and meadows and the whole park area to ride my bike around. Even the spot where your high school sits used to be nothing but open fields back then. πŸ˜›

If you're looking for anything actually spooky, check out the subway tunnels in downtown Chicago. They're damp, they smell terrible, and they're creepy. πŸ™‚

Those damn burger joints that don't give a damn about vegetarians 😬

Tell me about it. I’ve found myself stuck in that exact same spot more than a few times. But honestly? I’ve learned the hard way that if you head over to a place like Subway, they’ve got decent veggie patties. You just tuck them into a sub and load up on the sauce and onions... πŸ™‚

@ponor - I actually think that guy is great. Back at that big tech conference in Chicago last February, he was busy heckling this girl who had pulled off the first major reality TV scandal involving some questionable hookups before she became a household name πŸ™‚ . It was hilarious watching him go at it. He even flashed his ID to prove itβ€”it clearly said Antonio Lauer. He claimed Antonio Krsno was his given name and Lauer was just his mother's maiden name...

The absolute worst "comedians" out there:

1. Pretty much every stand-up comic you see on TV today.
2. Bob Saget.
3. That duo Bobby and Rudy (along with those cursed New Year's specials that haunted my childhood... 😠 ).
4. Mirko Fodor.
5. Al Bundy.
