rapidangler67 said:Buba mentioned The Evens concert will most likely stay at the Knockdown Center, so I suggest you guys grab tickets now.

Buba just said:

I just spoke with Ian and we decided that if enough reservations come in for the first show, we'll add a second date at the Knockdown Center. The first one starts at 8:30 sharp.
Please get your tickets ASAP, by 8:00 at the latest, okay?
Good luck—
Irene

I'm being told I have to watch what I say, so I'll just leave this here: after a long hiatus, I finally "sang along" (with absolutely zero musical talent, obviously) to a punk rock chorus led by Mackaye's father while sitting down—strictly following all the rules of his Church. I even grabbed a vegetarian falafel for lunch (though I did wash it down with an AFL-CIO beer)... and spent the rest of the day cruising in my indie rock Ford, blasting Naked Raygun and The Bomb. Woah-oh-oh!

Woohoo!

That whole singing and making out vibe was totally hippie-ish, but since Big Safe was conducting, I felt a little less awkward about it.

In my head, I kept adding Brendan, Joe, and Guy to whatever The Evens were playing, so the whole thing just felt like a tiny private Fugazi set... 🙂

Beautiful concert.

Woohoo!

Just one more thing before I head out and shut this thread down.
I really don't want anyone overlooking the role Amy the warmers Farina plays on percussion.
In my view, when Ian MacKaye says "Blessed not Lucky," he's talking about how essential it is for an "even" rhythm section to be just as vital to the sound.
This entire post is dedicated to Amy.

Well, you certainly made her happy. 😁 😉

Man, you want to swing by my place before Plojted? Unfortunately, I don't have any snack cakes left to offer, but we could always just drink instead... 🙂

*Snack cakes. Basically just cheap grocery store treats. No shit.

Jaro, thanks, but I've lost my sense of humor and self-deprecation lately, so I'm skipping Plojted... 😁

Got a little too carried away drinking last night, so tonight is for rehab.

Let's just stay straight edged.

Woo-hoo!

I mean, seriously. 😛

God, I hate shows where you actually have to invent sounds in your own head just to keep from dying of boredom...😁 😁

It seems you've lost your touch for unconditionally worshiping us superior beings. We're not worthy of Him! 🙏 🙏 🙏

In that regard, I’ve always been completely clueless, even when I was standing right there watching Jesus Christ—aka David Eugene Edwards—shredding on stage right in front of my eyes...😢 😁

If I go to a show, I know exactly how it ends. Not interested, because I'll just be hungover on cheap wine the next day. And I actually have to get up in the morning...

The cops aren't getting a pass, and they aren't going soft either 🎉 🎉 🎉 :hippieshit:

Honestly, the only thing missing from that show was some fancy wine and cheese by candlelight. It was actually pretty chill...

Alright, since we're talking about booze and road trips to gigs, I’m setting some ground rules for when people ride in coastalpanther11's car: zero excuses, no eating greasy takeout and wiping your hands on my upholstery, and—make no mistake—I am absolutely NOT driving anyone who’s wasted. This is the second time in a row I’ve had to pull over on the interstate just so people can go puke. And last night? The fog was thick as hell. Give me a break. Either bring your own barf bags, or start driving an indie Ford (you know, the Naked Raygun or Shellac of North America version).

ihihihi😁
And they’re carrying around those fancy little designer bags, too... you know, Calvin Klein, DKNY, or whatever else... just so everyone can see exactly how "indie" and anti-capitalist they claim to be...

As if anyone actually cares what you, David Judzin, or Ian MacKaye think. I was busy explaining to my buddy Jaran that someone who can't grasp the divine dimension shouldn't even bother showing up to an Exploited show.🙂 🙂

Ugh, moderators, and now cross-posting too👎
Might as well go upload some stuff since I clearly don't have anything better to do with my life...

Kevin Chavez3 said:Man, you really nailed it.

Look, Kevin Chavez3, you’re just missing the point. We’re still living in the punk era defined by Crass, yet you're still stuck acting like you're part of Exploited.

I should probably just start practicing some positive thinking and spreading good vibes instead. I’m sure Jimmy would get it. Maybe it's time I hang up this post-punk persona for good and go join the hippies.

At the concert, all we were missing was some fancy wine and cheese paired with candlelight; honestly, the vibe was almost too cozy...

Anyway, regarding the whole alcohol and touring thing, I’m setting some ground rules for riding in my car from now on: no excuses, no eating greasy junk and wiping your hands on my upholstery, and absolutely—without question—I am not driving anyone who’s wasted. This is the second time in a row I’ve had to pull over on the interstate just so people can go vomit. And last night? The fog was thick enough to cut with a knife. God, what a mess. Either bring your own barf bags, or stick to riding with an indie band like Naked Raygun or Shellac...

🙂

You're acting way too polite here.... 🙂 .... what about the person behind the wheel... 😕 .... who happens to be completely hammered....
