Half the country is sick

..so my doctor actually called me yesterday.

Is everyone else coming down with something too? It feels like there's some kind of nasty flu bug tearing through the country right now... 😕

It really is hitting hard. 😁

It only lasts maybe 3 or 4 days, but that second day just completely wipes you out. 😲 😱 I haven't felt quite this crushed in a while, and I usually deal pretty well with stuff like bronchitis and similar nonsense. 😬

Symptoms: A temperature hovering between 99-100 degrees, fluctuating every half hour 😁 a nose that’s raw from constant wiping 🙂 a slight sore throat, and a cough.

Medication: Mostly self-help (Afrin drops, Lupocet, various throat lozenges, and praying my family stays healthy.. 😁)

I haven't noticed anything unusual, except with my son. But then again, at this time of year, he’s constantly dealing with a runny nose anyway. The only real issue right now is that he's running a fever.

Otherwise, in the surrounding area—especially around the industrial parks—it's nothing. Everyone seems perfectly healthy (physically 😬 )

Just this nagging congestion and all that nonsense.

Really hoping it doesn't hit me too hard.

The second I walk through my front door, it's straight to the medicine cabinet—pills, herbal tea, and then immediately crashing in bed...

Who needs herbal teas and over-the-counter pills when there's a much better remedy out there? 🙏 🙏 🙏

I’ve got this nagging cough that just won't quit—is that stuff actually stocked at a local CVS?😁

Anyway, I tried some Iceland moss tea and a blend of marshmallow root, black tea, and licorice (😍) and my fever finally broke—it was hovering around 99-100 degrees earlier 😁—but honestly, I still feel completely wiped out and just totally drained.😬

It actually works. Your nose stops running instantly, you stop feeling the chill, and the fever breaks. It's awesome... though eventually, doctors realized patients don't always react the same way to the same dose. Other than that, it's gold. 🤣

Knock on wood—since there isn't any nearby so I'll just knock on my own head 😁—but I usually only get sick in the summer. Usually, it's just allergies kicking my ass, then I'm perfectly fine through fall and winter. 🙄 🙏 😁

If I can chime in here, I am incredibly lucky—I catch a cold maybe once a year, if that, or sometimes not at all. 🙂

Now, I'm not sure if there's a scientific link here, but I drink ice water constantly and eat ice cream year-round, so my throat never even gets a chance to get sore. BUT, of course, that means I have to be extra careful about my kidneys. 😢

Look, all I know is that if you actually treat these runny colds, they clear up in seven days.

If you don't bother treating them—they still pass in a week.😁

It started with my husband telling me I was coming down with something, but my fever hasn't broken, so now I've moved on to playing the piano instead.
My sister walked too much and ended up with pneumonia.😳

The nights are the worst: the second I lie down, I start coughing like crazy.
Even Advil and honey don't do a thing—nothing works!
Everything is just going downhill.

My doctor told me yesterday that everyone seems to be getting sick right now.
