To me, seeing Manitoba after Trans Am was easily one of the best sets at last year's festival... it hits differently live... especially when those guys start hammering away with both drums at once... The only shame is that Chicago Underground 3o opened for them, and they got absolutely crushed by Manitoba... And honestly, there was more punk energy in that horse that took them down than what we saw with MC5 a few months back.

Manitoba absolutely crushed it last time, whereas Chicago Underground 3o were totally wiped out—that grueling travel schedule left them in a bad mood... they're going to make up for it this time since they’re arriving a day early. They’ll get some drinks in them (they have a massive weakness for local bitters) and actually get some sleep before the set, so just watch the chaos unfold... and Neptune? Don't even get me started...

Anyway, the last time we were with Manitoba, this absolute lunatic joined the crew... they told me that as soon as they touched down in Miami, a K9 unit went straight for him. They hauled him into an interrogation room and stripped him naked, but couldn't find a single thing... the dog was losing its mind searching, though...
And what are the poor officers going to do? Let him go. This guy shows up today with the whole band grinning ear to ear... he opens his mouth and pulls something wrapped in a plastic bag out from under his tongue 😎

👍 👍 I’m all in on Trans Am and Manitoba, but if I’m being honest, I’d throw Hangedup into that mix too... just to round out the group. For me, those three are basically the holy trinity of live shows at the local club...
