shadowfalcon33 said:Never heard of "alignment." Sounds like something homeopathy fans would say.

Preselection? I assume you mean "inclusion criteria." Right? (So, you think they cherry-picked studies to suit their narrative?) Fine, maybe there’s an issue there. If so, here’s a tip for you > Read the abstract, track down the full paper (libraries at any US medical school carry The New England Journal of Medicine), study it, and then tell me: "Sure, looks good, but there's a flaw here, and a flaw there..." Get it? Or just write a letter to the editor. Send a commentary to an American daily. Do something! That would actually support your point, wouldn't it?

Why would research from America even matter to you?

Get it? 😁
look, man...😁
huh? 😁
I don't have an issue with it. I didn't even comment on that... get real.

Studies from America? Well, if you want to maintain some shred of credibility... we shouldn't be talking about things we don't know, right? 😉

And regarding how things are out there, I already explained it to you clearly... 😉

🙂 🙂

but seriously, shadowgardener12, I don't get why you think a study done in America would carry any more weight when we're talking about the actual scientific evaluation of homeopathy... it's all the same stuff, right?

and one more thing—some of the people you're arguing with have actually seen a bit of the world, it's just a fact. honestly, you look kind of ridiculous trying to dismiss them with that whole "you've never left your hometown, you stuck-in-the-mud types" routine... it's just not working.😁

Can't help you there. You'll have to figure that out on your own.

I've been trying for about 15 minutes now... Please, just help me out. Be a decent person and explain why it's so vital to have research coming out of America.

I think I finally figured out who owns that afro clone... shadowgardener12 is honestly such a legend—he just gets it, while the rest of us (and let’s be real, that’s basically everyone else) are just totally clueless...

Total loser!

Homeopathy... yeah, okay... Look, I’m not exactly a huge believer myself, but I think I see where shadowgardener12 is coming from, even if just in parts. In my neck of the woods—which, let's be honest, is a pretty high-functioning part of the US—you actually have primary care doctors who specialize in homeopathy. So yeah, there are actual MDs out there practicing it. But, man, bad timing... about two months ago, they passed this law that basically pulled the plug on insurance coverage for it. Now, if you want those homeopathic remedies, you're paying for them straight out of your own pocket. I don't think we need to go overboard with the drama, though. If a certain remedy actually works for you? Fine, go for it. Support what works. But then again, shadowgardener12 seems to put way too much faith in the whole thing. We really need to find some middle ground here. Like, if you've got full-blown pneumonia, a little homeopathic drop isn't going to do squat for you.😉

Personally, I'm all for having both options available. If someone wants to go that route, hey, more power to them.

So, since you’re such a moderate believer when it comes to homeopathy—what kind of illness do you actually think can be cured by it?...

shadowgardener12 said:Ha... I never claimed it always works. But people are turning to alternative medicine more and more these days.

Actually, they aren't turning to it "more and more"🙄.

I think you’re lacking a bit of historical perspective if you're making a claim like that.

There has always—and I mean truly always—been a wide array of various treatments and practitioners existing alongside mainstream medicine (though, naturally, the specific stance and type of mainstream medicine has evolved within society over time).

Homeopathy, naturopathy, and all those theories and methods date back to the late 19th century. They certainly had their chance to establish themselves as part of mainstream medicine, but they didn't. I can only imagine why.

A huge portion of what we call "alternative medicine" today was actually considered mainstream once upon a time. As for this idea of "holism" that shadowgardener12 mentions, that stems from Hippocratic medicine and shares roots with Traditional Chinese Medicine—essentially different versions of "mainstream" approaches. Every so often, popularity spikes, then it dips again. Compared to, say, 1920s Germany, I wouldn't go so far as to say we are witnessing some kind of modern peak.

The reality is that the WHO and similar mainstream organizations became interested in traditional methods primarily to see if any of those techniques could be utilized for populations that lack access to standard medical care altogether.

By the way, shadowgardener12, when you say "abroad," please define what exactly you mean by "abroad." It really grates on me when "abroad" is used as a catch-all term that lumps together places like Zambia and Japan.🙄.

Germany (and I believe Austria as well) requires homeopathic practitioners to graduate from medical school. In the United Kingdom, for instance, it isn't like that—alternative practitioners have their own schools where they learn some anatomy and physiology, and after that, they are perfectly free to open their own practices. Sure, they have their clientele, but they remain marginal players.

...

Homeopathy, naturopathy, all those theories and treatment styles... they've been around since the late 1800s. They had plenty of time to push their way into mainstream medicine, but they didn't. I'd love to know why.
...

It's pretty obvious to me, honestly.😉

But sure, go ahead and wonder why.

Right, because it’s all just one big conspiracy theory, isn't it? 🙄

If there were even a shred of historical context or actual facts to back this up, I might have something to say.

But as it stands... it's just baseless speculation.

If there were actual historical context or facts behind it... maybe. But not here.

Just baseless guessing.

😕
What are you fantasizing about? What conspiracy?
Who even brought it up? Besides you... though fine, you admitted it yourself, just empty speculation.
And now you expect me to actually have a serious discussion with you?
👍 😁

Alright, come on—explain it to us "slow learners" then... why exactly haven't those methods Lisa Ramos74 mentioned managed to break into mainstream medicine? Please, I’m begging you. We’ll be reading your explanation very, very carefully...
