I was doing a little deep dive into Barbara celjski online and man, I stumbled onto some seriously wild stuff... I mean, I already knew the basic legends and the bare-bones biography you get in history class, but turns out she had a freaking fascinating life.
According to this site:
http://www.carantha.net/slovenian_nobility.htm
it looks like Barbara was super educated, incredibly sharp, and a total political mastermind—like, she basically spent 50 years playing chess with the Habsburgs to block their expansion into the South and East. And get this—Tilda Swinton actually looks just like her! Of course, this one foreign site mostly sticks to the politics and the power plays, but apparently, Barbara was also really into alchemy and occult stuff... plus, word is she was quite the player, though honestly, most of those rumors probably came from her enemies trying to smear her name.
The original Barbara:

Tilda Swinton:

So, here’s the connection: Barbara, sex, lesbianism, vampires, and Count Dracul:

Motherfuck !!!!! WHY HASN'T ANYONE MADE A MOVIE ABOUT HER?!?!?! Seriously, she sounds like one of the most interesting women from the late Middle Ages... way more interesting than some boring old guys like King Arthur, Richard the Lionheart, or William Wallace.

Write me a script, and I’ll step in as the casting director. 😁

Ugh, if only I actually had any writing talent... or, you know, any connections to a big-shot producer... lol. Just imagine—a wild mashup of Basic Instinct, Dracul, ja Klaudije, and Rosemain, except it’s all based on a true story, and all the craziest, most intense scenes take place right in the heart of Chicago and New York! 😲

And then at the very end of the movie, the screen fades to black and it says:
Based on a true story. Most of today's European royal families are direct descendants of Barbara celjski.

Solid pick 👍-- though only if Cate isn't available...

I don't know, Cate feels a bit too obvious to me. Not to mention she’s incredibly irritating and predictable as an actress.
For a less icy and more neurotic approach—Miranda Richardson would be perfect. Think along the lines of her performance in Queenie, complete with those extra nervous tics.

It's your movie, 🤣 but saying Cate is a predictable actress 😲 just isn't true...

Cate has this face that film just loves. Seriously, her eyes are incredible—so expressive and almost poetic... 😍
Compared to Tild Swinton, Cate feels way more feminine and sensual. Tild Swinton's whole thing—take it how you want—is that androgynous look.

Hell, yeah! 😁
Am I supposed to be the producer now? 😲

Honestly, Cate just gives a film room to breathe with her presence and such precise acting.
So, for my own film... 🙂

-haf- said:So, I just finished watching Mindhunters. Honestly? It was kind of mid.

The whole time I was sitting there wondering why I’ve never actually seen a movie where the serial killer being chased by the cops is a woman?

Does that even exist out there?

And what would the feminists have to say about it? Like, why aren't they pushing for more stories like that?

Women don't go around using knives; they do it psychologically. Since you can't really prosecute someone for that, there just aren't any movies made about it.😁 😎

You need someone who can actually pull off roles like:
1) Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct
2) Livia in Julius Caesar
3) Gary Oldman in Dracula

Honestly, Tilda Swinton seems like the better pick to me. Though, man, it's super tough to find an actress who is that versatile—someone who can be a total bombshell and a seductress, but also a master manipulator running an empire, or even a witch/vampire type.

If I'm remembering right, there's a female killer in this one too 😲
