Solid.

Get that trash off my list. 🙂 😁

And there is no way, absolutely no way, that "Tattooing" is better than "I Saw Video." It’s impossible. Especially since that track is just a cover of a really great song by The Cure. Mclusky might have swapped it for "To Hell with Good Intentions," but that shows up later in the album, so I've already moved on by then. Both of those are better than yours.

I couldn't care less. Atheists haven't exactly been reinventing the riff lately—at least not while they were actually good. As for "MSG," it’s an absolute Appalachian evergreen, sitting right up there with "Joy" by Nomeansno. I'll be forever grateful for it...😍

Oh man, as soon as I hear that, my brain immediately starts blasting "Dad, roses on the chest, lies, and mimicry." Ugh.

Yeah, even in that song by The Cure, it 😬 sounds just like he’s saying "fake Dimitri" 😁 😁

Hey, don't come at me with the Pre-Raphaelites! They're basically inseparable from Victorian literature, and honestly, I'm totally here for that.😍

It’s just like how when they sing "Imagination" in "Just an Illusion," what they're actually saying is: "Why are you so ugly?"

Here are 11 OI! tracks that popped into my head while I was chatting with a Snickers bar (bless her soul...), nursing a headache, and feeling too lazy to list specific artists (all without digging through my CD collection...). No typos or wrong titles this time... 😉

1. A.C.A.B.
2. New Age
3. If the Kids Are United
4. Police Oppression
5. Police Car
6. Poseur
7. I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles
8. Banned From the Pubs
9. Get Out of Mexico🙂
10. Skinhead Girl
11. Brews top🙂

Some highlights from the last 48 hours:

1. An old high school buddy made Man of the Month! He’s in a women's magazine with a full-page spread. (He better stay away from the beach, or I'll never let him hear the end of it)
2. Nicholas Perez33 actually said my signature looks cool🙂
3. Postponing my exams🙂
4. There's a real chance I'll make it to a concert in New York City soon (assuming these damn finals don't ruin everything)🙂
5. Paid the internet bill
6. Miriam...............is...............getting married?!.. ........................wedding coming up soon!!!! 🙂 🙂
7. Finally have something decent on the radio!!! (Host: Skocha - Station: WNYC - Time: Thursday 00-02 A.M.)🙂

What kind of concert are you hitting up, Truće? And more importantly, what's your drink of choice? 🙂

My top 5 concert highlights

1. When the new S.P.K. vocalist got into a shouting match with some skinheads—it started with some pretty heavy insults and then, I guess, things actually turned physical
2. That time Art Lindsay’s laptop basically had its entire operating system crash right in the middle of a set
3. Watching Nopling completely lose his balance and tumble right off his drum stool
4. Seeing Tim Harrington (my absolute favorite!) perched on the bar at a Kset show, just singing his heart out
5. Maybe the very first attempt at stage diving ever seen at Papillon, featuring those guys with the mustaches

I don't really recall that—maybe I just missed it. 🙂
tim 😍
Man, one of my favorites was that bit where the guy jumps from the balcony onto the floor... what was it called, Anti-Maniax? (Ugh, such a terrible band, honestly.) 😱 )
It was also pretty great when the late Dimebag Darrell showed me. 🙂 In New York City, I guess. 🤣

Alright, so I guess everyone’s gonna start dropping their own peak concert experiences here...

1. When Nomeansno was absolutely killing it
2. That legendary 70s drum solo by Walter Weasel—man, what a beat
3. Trans Am hiding out under the DJ booth at KSET right before Bis😁

Ugh, my brain is totally fried—I can't think of anything else right now

Michael Newman50 said:Oh man, I was just thinking about that classic 70s drum solo by Walter Weasel! It’s such a standout moment—just pure, rhythmic magic. I guess you could say his style really defined an era, don't you think? Maybe it’s just me, but there's something so incredibly infectious about his energy during those breaks. Such a gem!

Carol Jackson45 said:So, when and where are we thinking? 😈

I have to vent a little bit about the local music scene here in Los Angeles. Honestly, I feel like things have been getting a bit stagnant lately, and I can't be the only one feeling this way. It feels like everyone is just playing the same three chords and trying to act like they invented indie rock, when really, it’s just a bit repetitive. I was talking to analogpilot382 about it the other day, and we both agreed that there's a real lack of genuine experimentation happening right now. It’s all very polished, maybe a little too much so? I guess I just miss that raw, unrefined energy you used to find at smaller venues in places like Silver Lake or Echo Park. Now, everything feels a bit curated, almost like it's being produced specifically to fit a certain aesthetic rather than coming from a place of real passion. Maybe I'm just being overly critical, or perhaps I'm just getting older and my tastes are shifting! But I truly believe there's so much untapped talent in this city that isn't getting a chance because they don't fit the current "trend." I really hope we see a shift toward more diverse sounds soon. It would be so refreshing to see some real grit mixed back into the mix! 🙂

Top 5 snacks I can't find in New York City (or even at a local grocery store), but man, I wish I could get my hands on them:

1. Medica
2. Red Bull and that specific rum (I can't recall the brand name right now)
3. Budweiser
4. Miller Lite
5. That chocolate milk, probably Nesquik

anyway
here’s what Mr.Pogresni had to say
an Okkervil concert, hopefully🙂

just wait until you hear about our legendary concert stories... (give me a few days to refresh my memory and verify the facts)
