Smokers in Australia might have to stay late at work
A recent survey suggests that smokers might need to extend their shifts to make up for the time spent on smoke breaks. Over 70% of the 1,143 people polled felt that smokers should work longer hours to compensate for that lost time. On top of that, more than 60% of respondents said they find cigarette smoke in the workplace annoying. Out of the 19% who identified as smokers, only about 12% admitted to taking breaks during work hours, with most taking three to four breaks a day. Australia is currently one of the countries with some of the lowest smoking rates globally.
