Rachel Brooks63 said:Of course I realize nobody is actually going to attempt this (hopefully!), but let’s indulge in a little speculation about how it might play out!

If there happens to be some brave enthusiast willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of science, I happen to know exactly where to find decent, inexpensive Hershey's.👋

Rachel Brooks63 said:I haven't a clue. 😬 If anything’s going to be the death of me, it’ll be my right shoe—not some bar of chocolate...

😁

Regarding Michelle Patel78—there’s no such thing as cheap, high-quality chocolate, unless you happen to work in a Hershey's warehouse.😉

🤔 It actually took me two whole rounds of back-and-forth just to realize I’d totally misspoken myself...—honestly, my brain was clearly elsewhere!—but what I really meant to say was that we're talking about the left shoe. 😵

The Spanish used a brutal method in Mexico to execute prisoners, feeding them their favorite meal every single day until they succumbed... word is that’s even how they took down the Aztec ruler Montezuma. He allegedly died after being held captive for about a month.

I can't say for sure if chocolate was the culprit here, but I'm certain the timeline for dying would be just as quick.

There isn’t a single food on this planet that actually packs everything the human body requires to function... 😢

but I’d bet my life that I’d stay perfectly healthy if I just lived off a single daily meal replacement shake. 🙂

Have you actually tried it on yourself first? 😉

I haven't really bothered since I have a bit of a habit of just swallowing everything whole, though if enough decent people managed to congregate at a local sportsbook, I suppose we could try to strike a deal... 😉 😁

Whatever, man... everyone’s got their own thing, and yours happens to be chasing the bag.

But what about sacrificing yourself for the sake of science? 😁

Science can handle that, though I suppose those who don't believe in it should probably foot the bill... 😉

Maybe I'll just shoot a documentary about it one day, something like "The Super Healthy Me." 😁

mistybear4, you really never know when to quit, do you? And look, science requires experimentation—a theory isn't worth much unless it's been proven empirically. Why on earth would I support your theory for free (or maybe even pay for that protein shake of yours?😁 ) ...

mistybear4, you really just don't know when to quit, do you? Science demands actual experimentation; at the end of the day, a theory is only worth what it can actually prove through empirical evidence. Besides, why would I bother doing this for free—or better yet, why should I be the one paying you for that protein shake?😁 Did he actually back up your theory?

Exactly, why on earth would anyone bother? 🙂

I’m sticking to my guns that this is entirely possible, and if anyone actually wants to challenge my theory or play devil's advocate, they’re more than welcome to go ahead and prove me wrong—provided, of course, they're willing to foot the entire bill for the investigation themselves. 😁

I suppose I must be a woman, given that I am apparently satisfied with much less.😬

Well, let’s hear from more women who feel the same way about being happy with something smaller...😁

If we're talking about lower quality chocolate, then honestly, I don't think so 🙂

From what I can tell, even the big ones aren't doing it for you. 😎

Based on what I’ve gathered:
1. Digestive issues
2. Vitamin deficiencies
3. Diabetes
4. Tooth loss
5. Muscle atrophy
6. Pressure sores
7. Hallucinations
8. Mental health disorders
9. Coma
10. Death
I’ve drawn these conclusions from autopsy reports—and, frankly, some deep dives into historical texts regarding old-world maritime expeditions...
Of course, there's always room for deviation.
The timeline? Roughly 1 to 2 years—though that really depends on their prior physical and mental state.
What are your thoughts?

Constipation—basically an inability to go—paired with mood swings and hunger pangs from insulin spikes, plus all the usual side effects of vitamin C, A, and B-complex deficiencies, neurological issues, and heart palpitations from lacking potassium and sodium... you get the idea. I suspect the severity of these symptoms and ultimate lifespan varies by individual. Still, if caloric intake roughly matches expenditure, one could potentially live quite a while while facing a steady decline in health. It’s reminiscent of the survival conditions seen in historical concentration camps. For anyone considering this path, my first piece of advice is to stock up on plenty of cleaning supplies—for both your digestive tract and the bathroom.😁 👋

mistybear4 said:Exactly. Why bother? .. 🙂

I’m saying it’s possible—if anyone wants to tear my theory apart or disagrees, fine, go ahead and prove me wrong. Be my guest. Just be prepared to fund the entire investigation yourselves... 😁

You might want to give up just because it's better for your mental health, but until you realize that... the people who don't buy into your theory (which, let's face it, is most of us) don't actually have to disprove anything. At the end of the day, you're the one trying to sell the shake. They aren't buying it. End of story. I'll just spend my money on a high-end jogging stroller for my kid so we can hit the park for some running or skating... you go ahead and buy your shake. 😉

What's everyone's take?

That sounds like an eternity to me... I honestly don't buy that someone could survive on nothing but Hershey's for a whole year or two!

One really must take into account the specific type of chocolate being discussed—whether it’s a hazelnut variety or perhaps one of those lighter, milkier types—because there is a significant difference there. Furthermore, every chocolate contains milk, which means it inherently provides certain proteins, fats, and vitamins.
I suppose it wouldn't be strictly healthy, but if one were to consume massive quantities of chocolate while remaining physically active—to, say, burn off that intense glucose spike—and wasn't just sitting around like a sedentary houseplant, one would likely be getting some nutritional value from the vitamins. I imagine one could probably sustain themselves for quite a while under those circumstances.
