It's not the same thing, though, because PayPal doesn't charge a massive commission like that.🤣🤣

Basically, making deposits to MoneyBookers from the US is totally off-limits. Even if you try to sneak them through Visa Electron, it’s still considered illegal.

Where on earth did you hear that? You can just walk into a local bank and deposit directly into your MoneyBookers account, or even just use your Visa card. It’s no big deal.

I managed to get everything sorted and I'm placing bets without any issues now, so thanks for the help.

Now I have another question for you. I've been using DraftKings, specifically looking to bet on NBA player props, but their selection is pretty thin. Today there were only three players available even though there are eight games on the schedule. I was wondering if anyone knows which sportsbook offers a wider variety of player props?🤷

Can I get a little help here..?

I'm just starting to dive into online betting and I have a few questions...

So, here's the deal..

First off, I opened an account with PayPal...

And that’s where my knowledge ends. I don't want to screw this up, which is why I'm asking..

What do I actually need to do to fund that account..?

There are options for:

credit/debit card
bank account

I'm assuming those are the two ways to put money into PayPal...🤷

So, if I pick credit/debit card, I just enter my card info and transfer the funds from there?

And what about the other way? Do I have to physically go to my bank and deposit it there..?

Someone please help me out...

I'd like to make this as painless as possible...

If you want basketball and player point totals, BetMGM is basically heaven.👍

Debit means you're paying with your card, but you gotta verify it first.
Bank means a transfer through your bank, but I haven't done it in a while so I'm a bit fuzzy on the details since they changed things up recently regarding how transfers work with Chase.

Bank transfers are an option too, but I haven't done that in ages so I'm out of the loop—everything keeps changing, and now they want everything through Chase.

Fine...

I just finished reading that whole Moneybookers thread on the finance forum... and now I'm even more lost.

Do I need a foreign currency account, or can I just use my standard US dollars account?
I've got a Visa Electron (USD).

The thread says when you verify, you have to enter the amount in Euros... how am I supposed to guess that accurately?🤷

I registered there a while ago, but I completely forgot my username and password, so I can't get back in. I guess that's that. Is there another one available?

I've just got a basic Visa Electron in dollars.

In that thread, they mentioned that when you verify your identity, you have to input an amount in Euros... and apparently, it's impossible to guess the exact number? Is that true?🤷

Honestly, just open a Moneybookers account in USD. I bet that would work just fine.

Given my extensive experience navigating the world of online wagering, I have decided to put together a brief overview of the primary online sportsbooks available today. I hope this provides some utility to those looking for direction 😉

Regarding the perks of betting online... beyond the standard 24/7 availability, increasingly popular books are offering sign-up bonuses reaching up to 100% on your initial deposit; for instance, if you deposit $10, you’ll find $20 in your account, or if you deposit $30, you’re looking at $60. As far as security goes, there is little cause for concern, as the major players in this space boast more users than the entire Yugoslavia population, and they invest heavily in refining their multilingual interfaces and digital security protocols. Furthermore, through these platforms, one can watch over 500 matches weekly, as many top-tier books serve as sponsors for various leagues and clubs, providing the opportunity to stream games and, should you desire, place bets via ESPN from the comfort of your own home...

DraftKings stands as a premier online sportsbook. They are currently running a promotion offering a 100% match on your first deposit up to $30. Essentially, you register and deposit $30, and you'll see $60 in your balance. It remains one of the most popular options due to its exceptionally well-designed, multilingual interface. Their selection of events is massive, covering everything from local favorites to international markets. They also offer an impressive depth of markets; for certain Champions League matches, for example, they might provide upwards of 400 different prop bets—yes, 400 individual markets for a single game. A significant advantage is their inclusion of diverse soccer offerings, including various regional leagues... Naturally, they tend to be slower when suspending markets, so you may often find that a specific parlay from a lower-tier league is blocked at a physical retail location, whereas at DraftKings, you can still place it smoothly 😉
Their live betting interface is quite elegantly designed, and they also broadcast a vast array of live matches—including the entirety of the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, and much more—provided you have an active account
They also tend to issue loyalty bonuses around their anniversaries... and, of course, the interface is fully available in American English...

Fox News is another leading contender in the online space. Currently, they are featuring a " $10 free bet" promotion for new users. In essence, if a new client misses their first bet of up to $10, Fox News will reimburse the loss. It is, effectively, a risk-free wager...
Generally speaking, they offer competitive odds, though their event selection is somewhat more limited compared to DraftKings, which is still more than sufficient for the average bettor. Live betting is decent, though I suspect it could be improved given that they don't offer quite as deep a pool of live markets. That said, they frequently maintain higher lines than other books

Sportingbet also provides a multilingual interface. Their live betting setup is excellently organized, allowing you to wager on any event you are watching via text updates from the opening whistle to the final second. Perhaps most importantly, they impose no restrictions on parlays, meaning you can combine live action with events that haven't even kicked off yet...

FanDuel isn't currently offering a specific sign-up bonus, however, this remains one of the heavyweights in the industry, and any serious bettor ought to have an account here. Beyond having a user-friendly interface, they boast an enormous variety of events. They truly excel in the realm of specialized prop bets, where you can quickly wager on things like total yellow cards in a match, total corners, who will lead in shots on goal, whether a specific player receives a card, and so on...

Bet365 offers a 100% match on your initial deposit up to $100. Their selection is quite robust, featuring an extensive array of events available via ESPN... They also provide one of the more enticing welcome bonuses for new users, meaning if you deposit $100, you'll find $200 waiting in your account—though, naturally, if you deposit less, they will simply double whatever amount you choose... It stands as one of the premier and most established bookmakers in the industry.

Gamebookers is currently running a 100% first-deposit bonus capped at $30. Their offerings are decent, and they rarely slash the odds on favorites, which is a distinct advantage for those looking for value...

bet-at-home provides a 50% bonus on your first deposit!
Bet-at-home is a fairly popular choice among bettors across the US. The interface is user-friendly, and they maintain a deep catalog of sporting events tailored toward the American market...

I trust this brief overview of the leading online sportsbooks has been of some use to you. If anyone requires further guidance regarding online wagering, feel free to reach out via private message. I would be happy to assist...

Brian Hill said:DraftKings is pretty much the go-to for online betting. Right now, they're running a 100% match on your first deposit up to $30. So, you sign up, drop $30, and boom—you’ve got $60 in the account. It's easily one of the most popular sites out there, and the interface is smooth, even if you're switching between languages. They cover a massive range of events too, including all those old leagues from the Yugoslavia era. Plus, the sheer amount of props they offer is wild —I mean, for certain Champions League matches, they can have something like 400 different prop bets available. Yes, 400. For just one game.

The odds they give on the stuff I actually care about—like halftime/fulltime markets—are pretty pathetic, honestly. Most online books are the same way.🤷

I can't believe I'm even looking at this right now—honestly, my eyes are starting to hurt just from skimming through the nonsense people are posting lately. It’s like everyone suddenly decided they were an expert overnight, isn't it? Just constant noise, zero substance, and enough bad takes to fill a stadium. I've been sitting here staring at the screen, trying to find one single coherent thought amidst all this chaos, and honestly? I'm coming up empty. It's exhausting, really. You try to have a decent conversation, maybe dive into some actual analysis, and instead, you get hit with this endless stream of mindless chatter. It makes you want to just close the laptop and walk away from the whole thing entirely. But then again, if I leave, who's going to be left to point out how ridiculous it all is? Not that it matters much—at this point, I'm just shouting into a void filled with nothing but static. kaže:
The odds they’re throwing out on the stuff I actually care about—you know, like halftime or full-time lines—are absolutely pathetic. Honestly, it’s pretty much the same story with most of the online sportsbooks these days. Just total garbage.🤷

DraftKings is sitting at 16.50 on this one. 🤦
Hit 28.00 on the DraftKings Lottery.

DraftKings @34 (though they’d probably cap you out before you even got started)
BlueSQ @29 Bet365
Bet365, BetMGM, SBO @26 DraftKings

DraftKings is basically just for betting on some random niche leagues and "unimportant" sports—like, they're pretty much the only ones even bothering to offer lines for the IIHF U18 Division II. 😉

DraftKings is really just for betting on those niche leagues and "minor" sports—they’re basically the only ones offering anything for the IIHF U18 Division II😉

Thx 😉

Plus, their welcome bonus is actually decent—you put in $100 and suddenly you're sitting on $200 (works the same if you deposit less, they just double whatever you drop in...). One of the big, old-school UK bookies too.

I'm definitely leaning towards pulling the trigger on this one..

Now I'm wondering what the easiest way to fund this is?

I tried using PayPal before, but apparently Chase doesn't play nice with them or something like that 😕

Also, is there any chance of getting screwed on withdrawals since they're based in England or however it works... 🤷

Does anyone happen to know when the American Lottery will finally decide to launch their online betting platform?...

I honestly don't know where to start with this one—it’s a bit of a mess, really. I was thinking about what Eric Fox7 mentioned earlier, and it just hits different when you actually sit down and look at the implications. It’s one thing to talk about it casually over a beer, but once you dig into the actual mechanics of how things work here in the States, it gets complicated fast. I mean, look at how we handle these kinds of shifts—it's never straightforward. There's always that layer of bureaucracy or those weird little cultural hurdles that just slow everything down. And driftinghawk83, I saw your point about the timing being off, and yeah, you're probably right, though I think you might be overlooking the sheer scale of the logistical nightmare involved. It’s not just about the "what," it’s about the "how" and the "who" is going to foot the bill when the dust settles. Anyway, I’m rambling. My point is, we need to stop looking at this through such a narrow lens. If we want to get anywhere, we have to account for the systemic friction that comes with any major change in an economy this massive. Just my two cents. kaže:
Does anyone have any idea when the American Lottery is actually going to pull the trigger on online betting?

So, when does the law actually change? — I feel like we’ve been circling this question forever, but nobody ever gives a straight answer. It’s always "it's in progress" or some other bureaucratic nonsense that basically means "don't hold your breath." Honestly, it feels like waiting for a slow train in Chicago during a blizzard—you know it's coming eventually, but you might as well settle in for a long wait. 🤷

Don't sweat the payouts. They're easily in the top 5 worldwide, and they offer an awesome bonus specifically for Americans that you just don't see elsewhere.

You just need a standard debit card with a CVV code and, obviously, enough cash in the account.
