Lawrence Moore45 said:I just caught their set at Madison Square Garden. Honestly? It felt like pure pretension and ego trips. I mean, look, I love being a fan, but man, they were just off. They weren't edgy, they weren't really listening to each other, and let's be real—they aren't even original anymore.

...they just don't have the hits.

.. look, Tyler Grant86, those things aren't even the interesting part. It’s all about the hype and the crowd they draw in... it’s a textbook Warholian spectacle.

And then there are the people who just can't stand them for organic reasons. I suppose there's something there that irritates people to no end, right? It seems like the absolute worst thing you can tell someone is that their work is mediocre...

That's probably why I always try to hunt down records that score lower than a 3 on Pitchfork, unless we're talking about something that is undeniably garbage, like Andrew WK or Audioslave. 🙂

Total Audioslave art geek snob... 😁

Anyway, just to brag (since I'm always a few years behind), I finally listened to Audioslave the other day. Honestly? Wish I hadn't. I'd rather listen to jasekonjaboj... seriously. At least that actually makes me laugh.

Why on earth? I mean, look—some guy trashed the latest LansingDreideiden record so passionately that I actually felt compelled to go out and buy it. And honestly? It’s actually a really solid album!

Not to mention Brent's whole "Britpop" dismissal regarding that first !!! album... which happens to be one of my absolute favorites in my entire collection.

That’s exactly my point. You can't have truly terrible rock music. 😎

I honestly wonder if a solo record from that guy in Dismemberment plan (one of my absolute favorite bands) could actually be SO bad that Pitchfork would give it a zero... 😲

Now, here I come, playing the part of the "oh, you're just not a true indie geek" elitist. For me, Audioslave was fine for about a week, and then they just got boring. But Jasekonjaboj? That’s an absolute evergreen classic—especially when you factor in the inevitable foot-stomping and rhythmic leg twitching. 😁

Honestly, when you look at film criticism, aren't the most fascinating reviews the ones that dive into movies where the acting is just painfully over-the-top and cliché? I mean, those films where the performances are so wildly exaggerated they become almost impossible to watch...

You sure about that? How do you square that with this: 😁
such incredibly bad overacting...

Look, I get what you're getting at, but you could take it another way too. 🙂

Better late than never, I guess. It seems some people got a bit worked up because I mentioned Dragaš. Honestly, let’s all just take a breath here. Personally, I find him hilarious, and I actually enjoy messing around with his lyrics and that whole "sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll" obsession he has going on. As for Lollobrigida, I’ve already got the badge and the t-shirt in my collection, so here is one for you 🙂

By the way, LansingDreideiden absolutely rocks. You just have to look past the fact that they're just a bunch of pretentious, artsy kids from New York, and if you focus on how incredibly talented they are, everything falls into place.

Well, I don't really ignore that part! For me, it's actually a bit of a plus. I guess I'm just not the type to overlook things like that; I take pride in being a true American. 😬

I have to wonder, who’s actually moderating this place? I almost got banned, had my posts wiped, and was basically flagged just because I called someone a total lunatic for their views on PC&V 🙄 ...

All I did was state the facts.

Seriously, DK—completely out of his mind.
