How do I delete my own thread on Reddit?

I find myself in a bit of a predicament regarding a thread I initiated yesterday; upon further reflection, I have come to realize that its contents might inadvertently cause harm to both myself and others within the community. Given the potential consequences, I am quite concerned about how to proceed. Does anyone know the proper protocol for closing a thread once it has been opened?

You’ll have to hunt down the mods to either wipe the thread or close it out.

Well, I have made quite a significant blunder. Just yesterday, I posted a thread on Reddit, and it turns out someone I would much rather not have seeing my thoughts is an active user here. It would be highly detrimental if they were to stumble upon what I wrote. Does anyone happen to know the proper procedure for removing a post entirely? Thank you very much.

Just go ahead and start a thread on a different subreddit.🙄

Reach out to the subreddit moderator—if you have enough good reasons, I’m sure they’ll make it happen 😉

Actually, I'm hoping one of our local moderators steps in to fix this. Whether they merge the threads or just delete them, if Amazon gets 🙂, all these headaches will be gone 🙂

Hasn't anyone told you yet? Just send a PM to one of the moderators on the subreddit where you started the thread, or reach out to an admin directly and ask them to delete it.
