Look, you’ve got it all wrong. The Beatles are essentially a reactionary group at heart, and they have this potentially damaging effect on the development of a young, self-governing individual. They don't exactly follow any established political platform—far from it. In several of their tracks—take "Honey Eyes," "Above the City," or "Detroit," for instance—they openly or subtly glorify drug use. Then there's the way they flirt with that reactionary existentialist philosophy across a whole string of songs like "We Are Drowning," "Blue and Green," "USA," "Be Yourself," or "Wall." It’s worth noting that even Jean-Paul Sartre eventually recognized the sheer weight of the ideas put forward by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. But the worst part? In numerous songs, they lean into pagan mythology and religious worldviews—think "Synchro," "Shrine," or "Water"—essentially offering up an "opium for the masses" (to borrow Vladimir Lenin's take on religion), only this time, it's aimed squarely at the youth.

It’s pretty obvious that when you're looking at a group like The Beatles, there needs to be some kind of ideological and political distinction—they really need to pick a side and stand on a clear platform. Our youth doesn't need that kind of reactionary music cluttering up their heads.

Honestly, that was my absolute favorite record. 🙂 My parents told me that back when I was just a toddler—not even talking yet—I already had the entire "Hedgehog's House" memorized. 🙂 We used to play that album constantly. We actually managed to track down the picture book recently, too. 😉

I've got the booklet, but I don't have the cassette.

Haha! I’ve got the booklet and—ta-da!—the CD! An original, too. It even has everything on it, including Antun-tun and all that good stuff.

I even have an autograph that Zika Pričalac gave my parents back when he was touring through the Midwest. 😁 😂 🤣 Obviously, this was way before the war. 😢 Kids today are going to miss out on so much good stuff... 😢

Does anyone happen to have a digital copy of Rock and Roll for Kids by the Government and Gilet? For those who aren't familiar, it’s basically rock versions of hits from the Hummingbird kids' choir (think stuff like "Vući vući bubo lenja" and such)

It's a blast of an album—if anyone has it, I'd be happy to trade a few beers for it 😁

Man, forget it. I bought an original at a Tower Records in downtown Chicago or something... $17... 🙂 I picked up the hedgehog version, then grabbed Thorn Rose and Ash (I think). I even have it as an MP3 somewhere... just gotta find it... anyway, I'm down to trade. I'll swap those seven little goats.
