This movie hits US theaters on October 15th. It’s by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, so you know it won't be anything too serious. It’s a puppet film about a crew sent to Paris because some terrorists were spotted there. Then it turns out some madman is trying to destroy the world. At least, that’s what I could gather from the trailer. You can find it here. Looks insane. The tagline is Putting the Freedom back in America.

I'm actually quite fond of this tagline:

"This fall, the fate of the world hangs by a thread!"

This movie is going to be absolute gold! (And yeah, I’m still a sucker for the Terrahawks)

🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

Found this little nugget of trivia on IMDb:

---------------------------------------------------
Before Trey Parker and Matt Stone settled on the final plot for this film, one of their original ideas was to do an all-puppet version of Day After Tomorrow. They had been given a copy of the script and thought it was already funny as was; but thought that if they were to make it into an all-puppet movie, then it would be substantially funnier. The main reason why this idea never came to fruition was because of legal problems with the studio that owned the rights to the film.
----------------------------------------------------

Apparently, they had to cut most of that from the script simply because the puppets couldn't pull off the performances required. 😁
By the end of it, they finally admitted that the whole production process turned out to be way, way more grueling than they ever anticipated.

God only knows what was going on in those twisted minds of theirs 😁 ,
I was just reading on IMDb that they absolutely wrecked the producers during the first test screening. Apparently, the scene opens with a massive close-up of a poorly drawn Statue of Liberty, and one of the producers in the theater supposedly panicked and shouted (to quote him) "They fucked us up!" just to get them to pull the camera back and show the "normal" puppets and set design...

😁

Legends... classic them 😁

Caught it the second it dropped. It’s absolute madness!!! Kim Jong Il is basically a living Eric Cartman. If you live by South Park law, you’re gonna love this. There's even a bit where Kim Jong Il sings "I'm so lonely"—well, more like "I'm so ronery"—since he can't quite nail certain letters yet. Just a kid, really. ;-)

And they say:
We did this movie because we didn't want to work with actors....
...Dealing with actors sux, they are terrible

The movie even claims there are only three types of people in the world: "pussies, dicks and assholes. Pussies don't like dicks, because dicks fuck pussies."

Man, this movie is killer! Every single minute is gold. It’s just constant parodies of movie stereotypes—it's everywhere. Any specific detail would be a total spoiler (like that line, 'I need you as much as Ben Affleck needs an acting school').

By the way, the puppets are top-tier. The movement is smooth, and they actually managed to pull off some real emotion through them—kind of caricatured, but it works. The special effects are perfect for this kind of flick too. Five stars from me. I'm grabbing the DVD the moment it hits shelves (had to snag the soundtrack as well—pretty sure Trey Parker wrote all the lyrics).

That hit song "America, Fuck Yeah!" 😁

I have heard whispers that the tone of this film leans quite heavily toward the Republican Party...
Does anyone have any thoughts or commentary on that?

On a separate note, I found myself rather taken aback by the statements made by Trey Parker and Matt Damon regarding P. Diddy...
Is it not somewhat irresponsible to frighten children with a pro-voting campaign like "Vote or Die," implying that choosing not to vote is somehow a grave error?
To my mind, such a statement felt quite reckless, though perhaps at this point, it hardly matters anymore...

By the way, I haven't actually sat down to watch the movie yet, but I have been told that early on, Team America absolutely demolishes the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and much of Paris...
All in an attempt to catch some terrorists.

Calling them Republican feels like a bit of a stretch to me, honestly.
I guess it’s just a byproduct of all that pre-election tension where everything had to be shoved into one camp or the other, whether it was Republican or Democratic Party, George W. Bush or John Kerry.

The guys actually told the New York Times that they were completely lost and couldn't figure out who to vote for since none of the candidates really appealed to them anyway.

From what I can gather, the movie works more as a parody of those big Jerry Bruckheimer productions rather than being actual satire. Their whole vibe is like some teenager who smoked way too much weed—"Man, everyone is garbage and life just sucks!".

It’s not exactly "Republican," but let me tell you, it takes some really sharp, decent jabs at Hollywood and its obsession with being politically trendy (think Iraq, George W. Bush, that whole mess). There’s actually a fairly significant subplot involving those "actors" through their SAG-AFTRA—which is basically run by F.A.G. president Alec Baldwin, 😁 if you can believe it. I won't spoil too much, but there's this one part where members of the F.A.G. actually team up with Kim Jong Il to organize a Film conference 😁
Honestly, the film is fantastic... it's a brilliant political satire and a parody of a dozen different Hollywood "blockbusters." It hits everything: weapons of mass destruction, freedom, Mount Rushmore, Michael Moore, Sean Penn, Hans Blix... and even Matt Damon (who plays this sort of Timmy type from South Park... while Kim Jong Il is probably the closest thing to Eric Cartman we've seen, just based on his voice and facial expressions 😁 )

Judging by that last episode of South Park where they absolutely roast P. Diddy—it looks like they've started some kind of counter-campaign. Look, you don't have to vote if you don't want to.

Of course, the real question here is whether they were being responsible in doing that.

Then again, maybe they just weren't fans of how P. Diddy titled his campaign: Vote or Die. If you ask me, it feels a little out of line.

This movie is fucking incredible!!! I spent the whole ninety minutes just cracking up... absolute must-watch, if you know what I mean. The songs are killer. Especially when Kim Jong Il sings "I'm so lonely" and can't even pronounce his R's properly. You’ll need to catch this one a few more times just to soak in all the insane details packed into every scene. Like how they made the streets in Paris look like they were paved with stone croissants. Definitely check it out!

Matt Damon!!!! 😎

😂

Honestly, the way they mock America, their politics, the intelligence agencies, those whole "anti-terrorist" efforts—it’s just insane 👍

Though maybe it was a bit too harsh for the average American; apparently, he had a slightly more brutal fiasco over there 😬

Yeah, you really have to pay close attention to the lyrics 😁. And then there's the classic Hollywood tropes being parodied (the leads falling in love, the mid-life crisis in a coffee shop, the drunk guy rambling)... The intelligence is staggering, truly. I don't even know how to describe it 🙏

I don't think the movie is Republican or Democrat, really.

It just mocks everything and everyone.

Basically, Trey Parker and Matt Damon just do what they always do—they poke fun at all the stuff we're already sick of.

I watched it today and honestly, it was great. It’s a shame my group was probably the loudest laughing group in the whole theater; I felt like we were being a little bit obnoxious, I guess. 😁

Matthew Fisher44 said:In the movie, they also claim there are three types of people in the world: "pussies, dicks and assholes. Pussies don't like dicks, because dicks fuck pussies."

But sometimes dicks fuck assholes 😂 😂

what a GENIUS deconstruction of human society.😂

It’s a great movie—the voices are straight out of South Park, and they absolutely tear certain people to shreds.

I downloaded the soundtrack immediately—it’s not quite on the level of Bigger, Longer and Uncut, but it’s still worth owning. Everyone Has AIDS, America, Fuck Yeah!, I'm so lonely, Freedom isn't Free, The end of an Act... just legendary stuff.

I won't get into the specifics because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but you really should watch it. If you're a fan of South Park, you'll love it—and if you aren't? Well, then you clearly don't know what real satire looks like...

Absolutely brutal. 👍
The movie was everything I hoped it would be... just perfect.

And that sex scene between Lisa and Gary? Pure legend!

Parker & Stone at their absolute best!!!

Exactly. 🙂

I watched the movie and was practically weeping with laughter during the scene where the main character is riding his motorcycle, missing his wife, and comparing his nostalgia to Ben Affleck's terrible acting in Pearl Harbor... 😂 😂 ,

But man, the way they took shots at Matt Damon? Respect.
