It’s going to be an incredible season. You can actually tell the cars apart now, and both Ferrari and Red Bull are looking seriously fast. Every team is definitely going to run into reliability issues—that’s just part of the game—but this was a fantastic opening. Honestly, I'm pumped for Haas. F1 really needs a powerhouse Ferrari to stay relevant; they've been lacking lately.

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Ferrari sitting pretty in the one-two spots.
That red livery...

Huge props to Ferrari! It’s been way too long since they actually looked this good. 🙏
Man, I feel for Checo, that was rough.
Lewis Hamilton basically just stumbled onto the podium by default.

It’s a massive win for the K-Mag comeback, and honestly, pretty solid for that new Chinese driver too. 🙏

rapidstag2 said:Right, sure—and then they'll tell us exactly which minute it became crystal clear that we’re looking at a "high" 2-second lap time, which will inevitably settle into a "low" 2-second average by the end of the season. 😁

At this rate, Lewis Hamilton standing on that podium still feels like a safe bet. 🤣

edit
Well, there goes Lewis Hamilton; his pit stop just clocked in at 4.0 seconds. 🙏

IT'S race Week !!!

The winter break felt shorter than usual, the anticipation grew higher, and finally, we’ve arrived.
Ladies and gentlemen, the first race of the 2022 season is upon us.
So many changes. The cars have been drastically overhauled compared to last year. Those 13-inch tires are finally gone, replaced by the 18-inch ones after all the delays. We have new regulations regarding tire usage, some drivers have switched teams, others are making their return to the paddock... essentially, a whole new deck of cards has been dealt, and everyone at the table is playing their hand close to the chest.

Who has adapted best? We might get a hint on Friday, but we won't see the true pace until Q3 on Saturday. Then comes the race itself, where reliability could be the deciding factor, especially since these cars haven't been tested extensively.

The suspense is peaking. The unknowns are endless.

Finally, instead of pit crew models:

What if maybe Rimac isn't actually making the batteries for RB?
Seems like their batteries died on 3 out of 4 cars... basically smells like some major electrical issues to me.

George Russell was basically invisible today.
Hamilton managed to pull off a decent result, I guess.

If they had a battery, it wouldn't be from Tesla. If it were Tesla, they would've already announced a date for when the battery would be ready. 😁

It’s almost like being second is an insult to Carlos Sainz. There’s absolutely zero joy there.

Pole position, the win, fastest lap, and driver of the day—I guess we really should just congratulate the man on such a flawless performance

Bravo Ford, bravo Haas, bravo Alfa Romeo
Too bad for Michael, he was so close...
Red Bull racing—??
The Bear—better luck next time, maybe they'll actually learn something
McLaren... I could cry...

Great race, looking forward to more like this one this season

If Bottas had actually nailed his start, we might have been looking at a podium finish. He just left way too much space on the grid and ended up stuck fighting his way through the pack.

I don't even know what the hell Ford was doing with those engines before—this feels like a massive leap forward compared to the last three seasons.

Max Verstappen came back just to drop a comment about Mercedes after qualifying😳
