It’s a disgrace that this garbage of a movie—and I actually sat through half of it, right up until The Punisher starts beating that guy with an ice cream bar—was even inspired by the brilliant Garth Ennis run. They don't even need to adapt anything; they have a perfect script ready to go, all they'd have to do is film it. But no...😠

Man, that old-school Punisher from 1989? That’s exactly how a movie about a legendary antihero from a killer comic book should be...

The most brutal anti-hero out there, probably responsible for more body counts than any other superhero in existence. 😁

I was thinking about one specific fact, you jerk: unlike most other superheroes, The Punisher actually kills his villains instead of letting them slide. Spider-Man is always sparing Doctor Octopus, throwing him in jail, only for him to break out and repeat the cycle indefinitely. Meanwhile, The Punisher just ends the threat with a single bullet to the head... and I suppose that's why the comic was such garbage. 😁

The only thing I actually dig about him is his signature

Honestly, I don't know what you guys are all getting at here. The Punisher is just a total mess of a movie. I can’t remember the last time I sat through such a clumsy execution of what was actually a decent revenge plot. If you want to see how a revenge story should actually be handled, go watch Kickboxer (also known as Karate Tiger 2) starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Now *that* is what I call a revenge movie.

Please. Kickboxer's Jean-Claude Van Damme is soft... he lacks any real edge. He can't even finish an opponent properly, which is probably why they had to churn out four sequels. Meanwhile, The Punisher just shoots a bullet into someone's face without a second thought. It's lazy...😁

I mean, honestly, it was pretty great 😁 did you catch how he absolutely laid into that palm tree? And that finale where he just completely leveled that evil overlord who snatched his girl 😁 A true warrior for justice, man, a real fighter for what's right 😁 😁

And The Punisher fights for justice too, just with much more efficiency. If Jean had finished off Tong in Kickboxer, we wouldn't be dealing with him violating the woman again in the third or fourth sequels. He did it to her in the first one and hurt her brother, too—he deserved to be crushed. He's just as much of a weakling in Golden Dragon. Total coward...
Bruce Lee is a real fighter for justice: lethal, ruthless, and precise.

I mean, Jean-Claude Van Damme basically slammed the guy's head into a wall, so what else were you expecting? He even took off those glass-studded gloves just to show he could win on pure skill. Besides, do you really think taking down Tong Poa is any easier than dealing with that effeminate Russian dude in The Punisher? Have you actually looked at the size of that guy? He’s built like a freaking structural pillar, and word on the street is he’s fueled by whatever substances he can find. At its core, it's a story about revenge, sure, but it's also about forgiveness—which is why he didn't just completely annihilate him.

I can't stand these damn "good guys." If he were actually authentic, he would have kept the glass gloves and killed the God inside him. And forgiveness? You might find it easy to forgive someone if they just bumped into you, but not if they maimed your brother and assaulted your girlfriend. I would have finished him right then and there, effectively ending the cycle of terrible sequels...

Jean-Claude Van Damme really only carries the weight in the first one. Honestly, I’m convinced he would have finished the job in the sequel if they hadn't swapped him out for that lightweight Sasha Mitchell. And when you actually stop to think about it, why wouldn't he just wrap things up right then and there? He already laid into that woman, dealt with that wise old mentor type he shared a drink with at the pub, and handled the Black guy who led him straight into a trap. Who knows, and why wouldn't he just do it all over again?
