The story goes that before he went bald, Frank Black used to rock long hair just to try and snag a spot in Iron Maiden, taking over for Adrian Smith when he left the band. But since that totally tanked (those questionable sideburns were a disaster), he ended up starting Pixies and wrote Broken hair, which they later renamed Broken faca just so nobody would catch on to what the song was actually about...

Look... I have to admit, I’m having a hard time buying this. It’s partly due to the sheer distance—both geographically between England and the USA, and in terms of musical style—but mostly because of the timeline. If my facts are right, the Pixies didn't even form until 1987, yet Adrian Smith didn't leave Iron Maiden until 1989, and he was still right there on the Seventh son of a Seventh son album back in 1988. (Assuming my sources aren't totally off base here...) But hey, you never know. Maybe if I happen to catch Frank Black for a beer in three or four months when they're playing nearby, I'll try to get some real answers out of him after a few rounds of truth serum... Anyway, regardless, I’d love to see if there's any truth to that story. It sounds pretty cool, even if it is just a myth.

It’s pretty ridiculous when you think about it—having to shell out cash $60 just to travel all the way to Austria just to get a look at something. 😁

As for that whole thing with Iron Maiden, I’m pretty sure it’s total nonsense, but man, wouldn't it be wild if it actually turned out to be true? 😁

There’s also that old rumor floating around about how Frank Black actually auditioned to be the new frontman for Guns N' Roses—you know, back when they were trying to pull off a run without Axl Rose. I heard Sebastian Bach and a bunch of other guys were in the mix too. Legend has it he absolutely blew those glam rockers out of the water with that high-pitched Thai scream of his, but apparently, he was just too heavy to pull off those tight spandex outfits and jump around the stage. Such a shame...

...thank god, absolutely nothing...to me, Iron Maiden is basically the "take that" of the metal scene, and Twisted Sister is more like the Spice Girls...honestly, the only thing I even own related to Iron Maiden is that Bruce Dickinson CD single with Mr. Bean on it, "I Wanna Be Elected"...and without Mr. Bean being on there, that damn CD would've been launched into deep space as an unidentified flying object a long time ago...

A lady working at Križanko was just telling me that the Pixies are probably going to be here😁, even though nothing is officially signed yet. If this actually happens, word is tickets will hit the market around mid-April.
