Btw... their peak was definitely before Richeytek disappeared, back when they were just out there having a blast (true—some more than others...)—like seeing Nick dressed up like some hellish maid. 🙂 Ugh... why did they have to grow up?

I ended up thinking Gold Dust was one of the weaker ones too after actually sitting down with it—even though my experience was mostly limited to Postcards from a Young Man, Send Away The Tigers (which was my first exposure and totally underrated in my book), and Everything Must Go.

If you're looking for a starting point, I’d recommend Everything Must Go to everyone; it's packed with heavy hitters, and even the deep cuts can hold their own against the singles.

Heh, honestly, I’m still leaning toward Gold Dust as my absolute favorite, though picking just one is such a headache! It’s not even that every single record they've put out is flawless—not at all—but it feels like there’s always a bit of a dip somewhere on every album.
I mean, they definitely have the knack for writing a killer individual track, but pulling together a cohesive, perfect album? That’s where they struggle, in my humble opinion.

I honestly struggle to find any real flaws on *Everything Must Go*—maybe two tracks at most, if you count "Small Black Flowers" and "No Surface All Feeling." That's about it.

The wait is finally over! The big day has arrived—the new album, Rewind the Film, is officially out in the world.

This Manics record feels surprisingly mellow—mostly acoustic and quite mature. They’ve brought in a few guest vocalists, too, though I have to say, R. Hawley is easily the standout performer on the title track.

After sitting with this album for a bit and giving it a proper listen, I can't help but feel the melodies are a little too straightforward. They feel somewhat predictable, honestly. It feels like they’re missing that signature spark—that specific kind of charm they usually have that just grabs you instantly.

It looks like they’re really saving that high-octane energy specifically for their live shows.

Some people might look at them and think their glory days are nothing more than a distant memory. But honestly? I see this as just a brief intermission. It’s a minor breather that won't do a thing to dent an otherwise massive and deeply impressive body of work.

Been spinning this new album (out this July!) non-stop lately—I'm totally hooked. There are some seriously killer tracks on here. Gotta admit though, I just couldn't get into the last one—Rewind the Film—nearly as much...

Look, *Futurology* is a solid record, but trying to give it this high-brow international flair by bringing out a famous German actress like Nina Hoss for something so trivial feels a bit over the top to me.
