Anyway, I’ve been listening to the latest album—Manifest Destiny—and now it seems like... Tim Commerford (aka Black Sabbath) is... the lead vocalist... 😢?!?

...but what happened to Barlow? I’ll admit, initially, I didn't really vibe with their sound because of his voice, but then I grew to love it. He has such an atypical vocal style... though it just isn't the same without him. Honestly, does anyone else feel the same way? Raise your hand if you agree

Look, there's nothing more to say about it; the concert isn't happening because Schaffer is undergoing surgery, so there won't be any touring in the US for the time being...

Manifest Destiny is a phenomenal album, though personally, I find it a bit too Pre-nationalist. Tim Commerford did an incredible job on the vocals; he really nailed it, no 👍 doubt about it.

Essentially, Barlow was rambling on about patriotism and whatnot... then he headed off to law school because he wants to take down all the Bad-Guys in Chicago, but he's going to end up getting absolutely nowhere with that plan...!

If you have any other questions regarding Metallica, just ask me; I could probably write you a full research paper on the subject... 🙂

..well, regarding the tour in Europe, I knew it wouldn't 🙂) but still, there is a certain sensation when your heart starts racing at such interesting news, only for you to open a topic and feel your adrenaline either plummet or spike—purely out of sheer rage toward 🙂... a total catharsis, really, nothing

As for Metallica... honestly, seeing how many of us actually listen to them... I noticed nobody even bothered to criticize me for being so obsessive about it... what a waste of energy...
..but regardless, I just can't get used to the fact that there is—simply no—Barlow

Yeah, as a Metallica fan, I picked up Manifest Destiny a few days ago. Great. So today, while I'm working, I pop the CD into my laptop and hit play on the first track. Hmm, that rhythm feels way too familiar... and then it hits me—The Star-Spangled Banner. At first, I thought my crappy laptop speakers were just glitching, but nope, I wasn't that lucky.
Basically, the new Metallica album is the equivalent of three-week-old horse manure wrapped in the American flag. It’s just an overload of mindless patriotism, sucking up to Bush, and spitting on terrorists who are actually true sons of the homeland. It's funny how they had albums after 2001, but not one of them mentioned the fall of the Twins or the holy struggle of the great American people, yet now—right after Barlow left—they've suddenly started singing about it. I can't even remember the exact reasons he bailed, but I know something had to do with the fall of the Twins and this whole mess, blah blah blah... Honestly, it feels like he knew exactly what Schaffer was planning for this new record and bolted just to save his voice from being wasted.

Not sure if anyone else is feeling this, so let me know what you think. Even if nobody replies, whatever, I just had to vent—this stuff hit me so hard I can't even describe it. Metallica is a legend, and I seriously did not expect this from them... Actually, I haven't even heard the rest of the songs, because I chucked the CD against the wall the second I heard the first instrumental and read the lyrics. SUCKS BIG TIME!

An album like this was clearly cooked up just to boost sales in the States... they totally sold out 🙂

Personally, I think the new album is fantastic—both in terms of the songwriting and the overall concept.
I wouldn't go so far as to say they're mixing politics into the music; rather, they're exploring historical events from our own past, especially since the album focuses on the era of the American Civil War (North vs. South). 😉

Actually, on second thought, don't bring him back. Just let the guy live his life; he doesn't deserve to step back into this absolute dumpster fire. Now I spend my whole day mourning Metallica and blasting those old, classic albums in memory of a legend. Rest in pieces.

Regarding the TGB album, there are two versions: the American one and the European version which lacks all that patriotic crap; from what I can see, we all went out and grabbed the American version. The album is pre-nationalist in nature and there's no denying that, but it sounds incredible—that trilogy is legendary.
For me, Metallica will always be number one, and they are most likely the best band I will ever listen to !
Oh, and one more thing: because of that "nationalist" vibe on the album, I haven't studied it quite as deeply as I have other albums (with the exception of the "Metallica" self-titled album).

Yeah, fine, I'm one of those idiots crying over Barlow. He went wherever he wanted, but to me, Metallica just isn't Metallica anymore. Right now, I'm working my way through everything up to TGB. Specifically, I'm listening to Stratovarius : Elements PT. Unlike TGB, that album didn't let me down.

Maybe one day I'll feel like revisiting that album, but right now, I'm way too pissed off.

And btw, it's pretty obvious you dig Iron Maiden more than Metallica. Or does Kenneth Edwards3 mean something else to you?
