Hehe, looks like there's a serious appetite for Metal in this group—honestly, I think you guys love it even more than classic country hits!
Man, it feels like I just walked right into a packed county fair, haha!

Pop, Rock, Metal🙂 🙂 🙂

Is there anyone else out there who actually listens to country music in their spare time? Honestly, people, give me a break! :asshole:
Look, if you're driving around drunk, I can certainly wrap my head around that, but when someone is cruising through the streets in broad daylight blasting Madonna, then we’ve officially reached a level of madness that truly 🙂 🙂

N/A said:Wait, who’s running the show here? Oh right, Rock.
Long live Rock 🙂 🙂

Alright kids, settle in. Here’s some homework for you—but only if you’ve got thick skin and enough brain cells to handle a little controversy.
quote;
"The hallmark of Post-Rock lies in its rejection of flashy vocals and catchy choruses, its complete indifference toward virtuosic guitar solos, and its embrace of fluid, ambient minimalism. By ditching the urge to make people dance and opting instead for unpretentious sonic textures, Post-Rock effectively dismantles every tired stereotype found in mainstream music..."

Or, to put it bluntly: Is Rock (whether it's R&B, Blues, or Metal) actually the absolute pinnacle of what music can achieve?
I’m waiting for the usual crowd of purists to jump in and tear this "monstrous" idea apart.
If you play your cards right and stay (un)constructive, I might just drop part two!

I’m just waiting for the gatekeepers to jump in here and tear this "monstrous" idea apart..!
If you guys aren't helpful (or if you are), there's more coming..!

Just two examples to kick things off: Stairway to Heaven, Hotel California

Has anything better actually happened? What do you think?

Has anything actually hit us harder than that? What’s your take?

Sure, there's also Smoke on the Water and Wish You Were Here 🙄 🙂 🙂

Alright, depends on your taste, I guess, but let's talk quality.
Music basically breaks down into three piles: the serious stuff, Rock (not Metal or punk... we're talking pure old-school Rock), and total garbage.

Just facts, nothing else.

It is quite impressive how much more you can talk out of your ass than I ever could. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 :asshole: :asshole: Congratulations.

Give me a break with that nonsense. What about blues or jazz? They existed long before rock. And what about folk music? 😁Stop posting such stupidity. 😁

Why all the heat right out of the gate? Okay, fine, maybe I oversimplified things a bit.
It’s not like I hate everything else—I’m a huge jazz fan and I can handle ethno music just fine. I was just trying to say that rock holds just as much weight as the "serious" stuff.

Just stating facts.

And here I was thinking it was split into true black 🙂 metal and garbage 🤔

The funny thing is, in both those groups, I actually prefer the garbage way more. 🙂

Listen, you budala, it’s more like true black metal versus different flavors of trash based on who’s got the better drummer—especially when you look at rock versus electronic stuff.

Anyway, this afro 🙂 guy is freaking incredible!

🙂 Cut the crap or I’m calling my creep grandfather on you.

Do you even realize how many music genres exist? You people only know metal—art metal, true metal, true black metal, art black metal, gothic metal, gothick black true metal, and white metal. Oh, and don't forget you all obsess over nu-metal too. Beyond that, you have zero clue. How can you even claim music is split into "serious," "rock," and "garbage"? It's total nonsense.

You are

stupid and you better remember that.

I am done with this ignorant crowd and the constant jokes. You all need a beating.

Thanks for saying that. Really boosts my mood.
The truth is, if it isn't rock, I think it's total garbage. 😁
Doesn't matter if people call me stupid—I love my music and I actually get it, unlike those crowds just vibing to whatever generic pop or EDM hits the radio.

Kevin Chavez3 said:But wait, doesn't Thompson play rock?

What does Thompson even play?! 😁

Come on now—don't go coming for my favorites like Stairway to Heaven, Hotel California, Smoke on the Water, and Wish You Were Here!

I went ahead and voted for 4 groups. 😁
