I can't wait for the inevitable showdown between the rockers and the punks, or the metalheads versus the techno producers.

Anyway, [in my most deadpan voice] I refuse to cast a vote as long as they're pushing hardcore while ignoring punk or alt-rock/pop. 😁

By the way, Thompson is such a basic amateur (just look at how many synths are in his tracks—it's obvious he was some teenager on the coast of Chicago listening to nothing but The Human League), real ethno-metal is Vuco! 😁

Haha, man, I’m dying over here. This whole debate is honestly a joke. Look, there’s really no deep philosophy to unpack here. If someone thinks Thompson, folk music, or techno beats are better than rock, hey, whatever floats their boat.
The more idiots we have crowding rural festivals, techno raves, or those Thompson concerts, the fewer of them there'll be left hanging out at the local bars.

Hey, I'll be the first to admit I messed up there! Mexicans are a nation just as much as anyone else.

What is wrong with you people?! Honestly, I don't think there’s a single person who actually understands music if they only stick to one specific genre. That’s just how you spot the people who are easily swayed by whatever trend is popping up or whatever garbage is playing on MTV. For me, it’s all about the artist. I mean, I’ll listen to Maidene or some classical pieces, then jump over to early Santan or Deep Purple, or even some high-quality folk musicians and good old-school blues. There's a ton of other stuff too, but I can't list it all right now.

But absolutely nobody—and I mean absolutely nobody (let me repeat that: nobody)—should be listening to that trashy pop-country crap. It isn't even music; it's just an uninspired, brainless byproduct from some group of losers with zero mental capacity who somehow manage to sell it to the masses. Is that really why we fought to distance ourselves from that culture, just to let them bury us again? People, please, use your brains while you still have a chance!

It's a similar story (though much less intense) when it comes to techno. People finally learned how to use a computer and—presto!—suddenly they're "musicians." It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3 (to quote something equally annoying). Who gives a damn about those of us who spend years practicing actual instruments and making real music?
I can tolerate techno and its various subgenres, or rather, I just ignore them, mostly because at least you need to know how to operate a computer for that, which is more than I can say for the country-pop crowd. Ugh, I can't stand them. Like, I reaaaaaaally can't stand them. 😠 😠 😠 😠
