I'm strictly --> GRUNGE 🙂 .... though I'll admit I'm into punk, alt rock, and pretty much everything else

I have to be honest, though—metal just doesn't click for me at all
. Even the classics like Metallica or Iron Maiden... they're okay, I guess

But stuff like Black Sabbath - Spiral Architect, or death metal (😛), etc.? That just goes straight over my head!!

Yeah, I'm with you there. It’s just not for me either. Honestly, the hardest thing to wrap my head around are those songs about dragons breathing fire over cities, then some hero shows up to save everyone, blah blah blah... feels like someone read way too much Tolkien. Or there's that one track where the lyrics go "for the king / for the dwarves / for the mountains..." or something along those lines. Sure, let's go march into Mordor and save the world from Sauron.🙂

Heh... well, those songs are still alright, I guess...
What can you do? People have wild imaginations... (or, like you said, they just copy Tolkien) .....

But when I hear those Cannibal Corpse tracks with those specific gimmicks...
"this is for all the fucking women out there.....fucked with the knife"....
And then they play the song with the exact same title which is 🤮

That’s just way too much for me!!!

I used to have this one friend—total goth vibe—who was convinced she was some kind of witch and a vampire, even though she was a full-grown adult.....

Man... I still haven't actually written my song. Less Than Jake - All My Best Friends Are Metalheads. It’s such a great little track, and they managed to fit everything in just three and a half minutes.

There are tons of them under five minutes...
But the shortest one I can think of that’s actually pretty sweet is Parachutes by Coldplay [0:46]. 😁
