Femme Fatale

Avoid this at all costs; the fallout can be absolutely devastating. You’re looking at sleepless nights, crying for hours over wasted time and lost money, and you might even develop a lifelong grudge against popcorn and movie theater soda.
I can't quite pin down if it's the acting, the script, or the directing that went off the rails, but something is definitely broken up there.
If this doesn't land at least three Oscar nominations, it's straight-up robbery.

I have to say, my take on this is actually the complete opposite of yours. Honestly, I think we’re looking at one of the absolute best films released this year.

From my semi-professional standpoint—I’m currently a film student in New York City—you should sue the producer and everyone else involved with that production. 😁

I honestly always felt that "Femme Fatale" would be way more appealing to people who actually speak the language of cinema rather than just the casual moviegoers.

In my book, this is easily the best thing De Palma has put out since "Carolito's Way." It’s pretty cool that he actually co-wrote the script, too. It’s honestly kind of a shame that a guy with his level of talent has to spend his time working on stuff like "Mission: Impossible" or "Mission to Mars"—man, it seems like every time his survival is on the line, the poor guy ends up stuck in some crazy "mission."

Is it really possible that I'm the only one on this entire forum who actually digs "Femme Fatale"?

For what it's worth, I'm not really feeling the Pegasus vibe either.

Thank goodness there was some kind of Budweiser premiere happening, because a contact of mine over at the brewery hooked me up with tickets. Honestly, if I had actually paid $8.25 I would have been furious...
My friend and I spent the entire time making fun of the movie; that was really the only redeeming quality.
Half the theater was fast asleep by the midpoint.
The other half just sat there staring at the screen, totally unresponsive.

Now, go ahead and call my friend and me stupid, but
someone out there actually claimed this was the best (unbelievable!) film of the year. Good grief...

Maybe if I were still in fifth grade, I might have actually enjoyed it.

Given how much you clearly disagree with Mr. De Palma's directorial vision in "Femme Fatale," I have a feeling I might need to approach any future films under the "directed by briskmarlin59" banner with a healthy dose of skepticism! 😉

So, I wanted to get my thoughts down on this massive, highly anticipated movie everyone’s been buzzing about. Honestly, given how much hype there was in the trailers, I went in with some pretty high expectations, which just made the whole thing feel like a massive letdown in the end. The plot felt incredibly flat and repetitive, mostly leaning on erotic themes
(though, to be fair, I didn't actually see all that much of it). I guess I have to make one exception for that comic strip sequence performed by Stamos (which was likely a live scene in a movie). Man, that was hot. Just pure heat.
I'm not even going to touch the ending.👎

And yeah, I liked it.
The plot is weird, sure, but it’s original.
I enjoyed it.
But, like swiftviper3 said,
the plot being so focused on eroticism felt repetitive—there's WAY TOO LITTLE eroticism compared to what everyone expects from a movie like this.
That's my only real gripe.
But Stamos was absolutely perfect for a Femme Fatale role.

...and that scene with the comic strip featuring Stamos is beyond HOT.

Femme Fatale isn't even that terrible; I've seen much, much worse. 😎

The movie isn't nearly as bad as you guys are making it out to be.
Sure, maybe it was a little overhyped to an obnoxious degree,
but the girls are actually pretty great.

I always find myself jumping back into these ancient debates 🙂 😉 but honestly, I have to vent about how absolutely garbage this movie is. Seriously, what is it with people obsessing over De Palma?! Those parallel shots feel so incredibly forced. Like, what was the point? What was he even trying to say with this mess?!

Gross. I managed to stomach half an hour before my husband had to look away and gag.

Anyway, there’s my two cents. Now this thread can finally fade back into oblivion...
