Office Space (1999)

That was a great comedy... I just stumbled upon it by accident. My favorite part has to be that guy with the weird way of talking—the one who shows up to the cubicle farm, doesn't get paid, and ends up getting relocated to the basement with the lights turned off. The whole psychological aspect of fighting for every inch of territory, plus how people change once they become bosses, is really interesting.

That’s from somewhere around '98 or '99—I can't quite recall the exact year. The movie is absolutely hilarious, though you really need to have spent some time grinding away in a cubicle farm first, otherwise the jokes just won't land. You should be able to track it down on Netflix or something similar, since it’s become a total staple among tech geeks—that scene involving the money laundering is legendary...

This translation is peak American stupidity.

Nobody has pointed out yet that Mike Judge actually made this movie—he’s the creator and the voice behind most of the characters in Beavis & Butt-Head. Honestly, the film is a killer depiction of cubicle farm life and the various cliques you find there, ranging from those "serious" hackers to the upper management circles. It's easily one of my favorite flicks 🙂

The movie is actually pretty hilarious.
It’s definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of Dilbert.

Since we're talking about >, it makes me think of another older > flick—>. It’s one of those movies that flopped at the box office when it first came out, but eventually became a total cult classic. I remember years ago, > aired it during some random, terrible Saturday afternoon slot. It was like they didn't even realize they had a masterpiece on their hands that belonged in prime time.

Some of the scenes really make you laugh out loud. My favorite character has to be the neighbor, the contractor >.
It's a must-see for anyone who's spent any significant amount of time working in an office. 👍

For those of us grinding away at Accenture, this feels less like a movie and more like a documentary.
