Can we replace Eowyn FTW with an FBI moderator?

So, I’m officially calling for her to be removed. This is the second time today she’s gone ahead and nuked my posts in just the last week—and we’re talking posts longer than thirty words here. I mean, I don't spend half an hour crafting a response just to have someone delete it in a split second, you know? She claims I'm "sabotaging" the chat, but if you ask me, I’m just making the place feel alive, more colorful, and actually funny. Okay, fine, maybe I get a little vulgar sometimes, but apparently, some people can't handle that while others think it's totally fine. Like, she was deleting stuff from me and Cikcak, yet whenever her little pet Velociraptor says anything at all, she’s all over it with the laughs. Then she has the nerve to publicly claim she’s just dealing with some CIA issues, probably thinking that justifies her hypocrisy and the way she picks favorites. It’s like, she hates that we’ve turned this chat into a total dive bar atmosphere, but she doesn't even enforce those same rules on the other subreddits where she’s a mod. Honestly, she’d rather just shove me in a drawer and slap me every time I try to peek out. And look, I’ve never been a fan of uniforms, and I definitely can't stand being tucked away in a box. I guess I’m just way too creative for that kind of thing. So yeah, please, just replace her with someone who actually has a sense of balance.

electricharbor30, I’m not saying you overstepped once; I’m saying you’ve been overstepping for quite some time now. If I were running the show here as a moderator, you would have been banned ages ago.

And look, it isn't personal—I don't have anything against you specifically. It’s just your way of expressing yourself. I actually advocated for Eowyn to take on a moderator role for this forum because I truly believed she was the one who could "fix" the culture here. And honestly? I think she has. If every moderator had her level of integrity and skill, someone as insignificant as me wouldn't have even found a place on this board.

Maybe try thinking through the nonsense you post before hitting send, and then perhaps your posts won't keep getting deleted. 🙂

p.s. Just for the record: I'm saying all this even though I personally voted for the very rules currently being enforced on this forum—rules that she helped draft herself.

Well, that’s probably why you aren't a mod, I guess. People aren't just cattle that you can shove into a pen and treat however you want. You aren't like me, I’m not like you, and nobody else is exactly like anyone else either. It’s a diverse world, you know? I’m not looking for any kind of special treatment or anything, I just don't want to be bullied and I want my freedom to express myself. Honestly, it kind of hurts that my way of talking bothers you so much. There’s plenty of stuff that bugs me too, but I don't go around policing people just because they are who they are. I mean, if that were the rule, nobody could have tattoos, or red hair, or wear Vans. I don't complain when people use weird regional slang, for example. I haven't insulted anyone, I haven't harassed anyone, and I haven't said or done anything remotely nasty to anyone, yet my posts still get deleted. This seriously needs to stop. I should at least have the right to speak the same way I do in real life, right?

Look, how you choose to talk in your actual day-to-day life is entirely up to you—nobody has any right to police your speech out there. But this forum isn't your own private living room, so there’s an expectation that you actually stick to the rules—rules you, by the way, agreed to the second you hit that registration button. Personally, I don't see any issue here.

So, after such a lovely explanation, I suppose I can just add that this chat isn't some unmoderated free-for-all. It's actually the moderators' job to keep things orderly and civil, which is exactly what Eowyn did.
If you aren't a fan of having your posts removed, maybe don't write stuff that deserves deletion and, unfortunately, drives everyone else away from the chat.

I mean, some people actually find that kind of vibe pretty charming. To me, it just shows I’m down to earth and not trying to put on some fake, polished persona. I’m the type of person who might just let out a "holy shit" or a "screw this" when things go sideways... and it honestly bugs me when someone acts all shocked and goes, "Oh my, how unrefined." At least with me, you know exactly where you stand. I don't sugarcoat my words just to politely tell someone to get lost, you know? Look, could you please actually go back and check what was in those deleted posts? Maybe ask someone like blue-sapphire if they were cracking up or just totally repulsed by them... I mean, what am I supposed to do, walk on eggshells with everything I type? Constantly overthinking every single sentence ten times before hitting send just to sound "neutral"? Honestly, it sounds exhausting, and I don't know how you guys do it...

The only way this makes any sense to me is if everyone in this group absolutely loathes each other and is constantly using double entendres to insult one another at 3 pm...

Yeah, alright, I guess I agree with you there. Even if the forum is a public space, people still need to respect the rules. But then how am I supposed to make sense of the fact that the moderator deleted my photo and some completely neutral sentences—nothing vulgar at all—just a week ago, and then basically made up some random rules on the spot just to justify why they wiped them?

So I was reading this line: "Bill Gates makes so much money that it wouldn't even be worth his time to bend over and pick up a thousand bucks if it fell out of his pocket," and then the mod just nuked it because apparently it was "cluttering up the chat"...
