I was watching some footage earlier today and it got me thinking about how much "statecraft" has just turned into pure theater. It’s not just about the policy or the legacy anymore; it feels like every major public event, especially funerals or memorial services, is being treated like a carefully choreographed stage production.

I remember attending a memorial for a local community leader a few years back. There was a real sense of quiet, shared grief. But lately, when you look at the big televised ceremonies, it feels like everyone is just waiting for their cue to deliver a monologue. The focus seems to shift from the person who passed away to whoever is standing behind the podium.

It makes me wonder if we're losing the ability to actually honor people sincerely. When a massive platform is involved, does the gravity of the moment get swallowed up by the need to make a statement or project a certain image?

Do you think public figures are still capable of genuine solemnity, or is everything just a branding exercise now?
