I was scrolling through some sports news earlier and realized I spent a good twenty minutes just memorizing jersey numbers for players I don't even recognize yet. It’s kind of a rabbit hole once you get into it.
I used to think being a "real" fan meant knowing the stats and the playbooks, but lately, I feel like half the battle is just keeping track of who is actually showing up to camp and who's been moved to the reserve list. It’s easy to lose track when there are dozens of new faces every single year, especially when you're trying to figure out who the rookies are versus the guys just fighting for a spot on the practice squad.
I find myself checking these deep-dive lists constantly, even when I know the season is months away. It’s like a weird mental puzzle trying to visualize the depth chart before the preseason even kicks off.
Do you guys prefer following the granular stuff like jersey numbers and depth charts, or do you just wait until the actual games start to see who's good?
